We'll still have our daily cash prize tournaments for Bronze-Silver, Gold-Platinum, and Diamond players who wish to play within their skill level, but we'll also offer a larger prize pool to our Master-GM players as well as anyone else that wishes to compete (the $75 Daily will be open to all leagues).
•All matches must be started on the map listed on the player bracket above the current round being played. •In a 'best of X' series, the loser chooses the next map to play from the map pool. + Show Spoiler +
ESV Cloud Kingdom, ESV Sanshorn Mist AE, GSL_Bel'shir Beach (Winter), GSL_Calm before the storm, MLG Metalopolis, ESL Shakuras Plateau, MLG Shattered Temple, Tal'Darim Altar LE, MLG Antiga Shipyard, GSL Dual Sight, GSL Daybreak (Official), GSL Terminus SE
•All maps played on must be the exact name shown, letter for letter, no exceptions. •If your opponent hosted on the incorrect map it's your responsibility to leave the game at once and contact an admin. Failure to do so may result in the game being counted even though it's not the correct map. •Each map in the pool may be played once per series. Maps may not be vetoed by either player.
No-Shows ================
•All players should make an effort to be in one of the Playhem sc2 channels (Playhem, Playhem2..) when they are participating in a tournament, however this is not mandatory. •Should your opponent be missing, you must attempt to add them to your friends list by the character code on the bracket and message them, if they are unresponsive or offline you may contact an admin according to the following: •If your opponent is offline/unresponsive for 15 minutes after the start of the tournament OR 10 minutes after you were due to face them in any later round after the tournament began you may report a no-show to a tournament admin and be advanced. •Reporting false no-shows in an attempt to get a free win, or not taking the appropriate measures listed above may result in disqualification from the tournament. •Some exceptions may be made for players that are forced to delay their games and ask for an extension before hand so long as it's within a reasonable time frame, players should try their best to accommodate the other person if possible.
Observers & Casters ================
•All Playhem Admins and official streamers MUST be permitted into your game if they request it, failure to comply with official streamers and admins of playhem may result in immediate forfeit. •If you are unsure if a caster is an official member of Playhem, you should contact an admin to ask at once. Official casters will generally be accompanied by the account "PlayhemTV". •Observers are permitted in games as long as you have the consent from both players in the game. •A player may ask an observer to leave the game at any time for any reason (suspicion of cheating, lag, etc). •If a game is started with an observer that you did not want to permit in the game, you should leave the game immediately at the start and ask for a regame. •Failure to remove an observer from a lobby when another player requests it may constitute a technical no-show as the other player may refuse to play the game. •In the event that you permit a non-official caster or observer into your game, you do so at your own risk and waive any right to dispute the game outcome due to stream/observer cheating.
Smurfing & Leagues ================
•If an admin determines that you own an account that is of a higher league than the tournament you are playing in, or that you were previously in a higher league, you may be immediately forfeited from the tournament and/or banned from the site. •If you are consistently winning a low league tournament, or haven't been promoted due to Starcraft II's MMR system, you may be asked to not play in any further tournaments until you are promoted to the next highest league bracket. •An exception to this is the Open tournament, players of any league may participate and use any account regardless of their main account's ranking. •In the event that you suspect your opponent to be a smurf, you can report your opponent to an admin after playing all the games of your series (unless there is substantial and obvious evidence). •If an admin disagrees with your report, we ask that you respect the decision and accept it as a loss. We will do our best to catch any and all smurfs but we stand by "innocent until proven guilty" and go to great lengths to not ban innocent players, even if they are suspicious. Please keep in mind that in a tournament, there are bound to be players that are simply better than you. •In the event that you are playing on a secondary or new account, an admin may ask you to provide a profile link to your main account for review. Failure to comply may result in disqualification if you are under suspect of smurfing.
Disconnects ================
•Disconnects in most cases will count as an immediate loss within the criteria outlined below: •If the disconnect happened in the first 4 minutes of the game and no contact between the two players has been made (scouting, cheese, etc) then the game should be replayed. Once a player has scouted their opponent, disconnects will count as a loss. -Scouting constitutes vision of any portion of the opponents base/units/structures/spawning location. In the event of one player being random, indication of their race also counts as being scouted. •If it's obvious that your victory was imminent and definitive before the disconnect happened (ie. you were finishing off his base and he had no army left), contact an admin immediately and a decision will be made on a case-by-case basis. •The player who did not disconnect may offer a rematch after any disconnect at their own discretion, this is NOT mandatory and entirely up to the player to decide. •If a disconnected player does not return to battle.net within 5 minutes, you may report him to an admin as a no-show and get a walk-over for the remaining game(s) of the series if applicable.
Misc ================
•In the event of a stalemate game / tie, the game will not count as a win for either player and should be replayed on the same map.

To be on the safe side, I will not be streaming, seeing as I don't want to break any rules.
I'm very excited! :D
We try to stream as many of our events as possible but it's hard since there's 8 every single day (4 on NA and 4 on EU) but we're in the process of getting some additional casters to help cover everything.
Players are more than welcome to stream their games but you have to do so at your own risk; if someone were to stream cheat you I can't do anything about that =//
Very good tournament shame ppl know little about it . No delays, user friendly interface, admins actually listen to you overall very entertaining to play. Only if we had more ppl to play with so guys come on

Played my first one today (bronze-silver) and it was an enjoyable experience.
I just had one question though @neeb, as sometimes the website can be a little hard to navigate.
If I don't remember the tournament #, is there any way for me to go back and look at previous tournaments that I participated in? There doesn't seem to be a good way for one to look at previous tournaments (either that or I'm just blind... but I couldn't find one).
It was fun today, and I recommend that anyone who is on the edge of trying it (especially lower level players like myself ) should definitely give it a shot.

Hey man, glad you had fun! I think our tournaments are a really nice break from ladder :D
We don't currently have a very good history system for previous tournaments like what you're describing but hopefully we'll have one soon (it is on the list of things to do xD)
Hi, these tournaments look really interesting - I'm thinking of participating as well. I have a quick question though. When you sign up, are you automatically placed in the tournament of your skill-level, or are those separate tournaments? If it's the latter, how do I sign up for those?

You have to manually signup for a particular tournament from the Tournaments page on Playhem. They're titled "[EU] Playhem $10 Gold and Platinum - Thursday" for example and they're league restricted but the daily is open to all leagues.
On September 24 2011 04:27 stevensonmat2 wrote: So these are all free? How does the point system work exactly?
Also, my profile said I "can't play on cash" since I have no money in paypal, what does that mean exactly?
Thanks!
Ahh! I completely missed this because of all of the excitement with the White-Ra announcement and the $400 open yesterday, I'm sorry man!
Our tournaments are completely free yes, points are entirely free. I make our tournaments have a 1 point entry fee because if I made them cash they would cost something to enter lol. It's very hard to run out of points as you get them just by playing games (as well as posting results to facebook or twitter and different things like that) but if you do run out just let myself or another admin know and we'll give you more.
If you're under 18, cash play is automatically disabled on your account because it would be illegal for you to wager cash in head-to-head matches or buy-in tournaments. You can still play in these though and win cash from our tournaments, you just can't wager your own cash.
Played in a tournament yesterday, lost first round but loved it . Only cricism is that he site a bit confusing at first, I wish you would be directed to a guide explaining how everything works when you first loggin. Also it would be nice to have a way to: -know every tournament we're in -maybe have the possibility to get an e-mail before a tournament starts? -when the tournament is over have a page with the results of the tournament.
Haha xD Hopefully we'll have some of the new features soon but that actually is one of the better ways to do it right now unfortunately :S For now I think I'll start posting the previous winners in this thread again =)
Yesterday's EU broadcast was absolutely ridiculous! Especially an amazing PvP between EGAxslav and TypeReaL (Korean player). The VOD itself will be up on my Youtube in just a bit, but other than that.. crazy tournament!

Everyone make sure you get signed up for the $400 Open Tournament #2, it's tomorrow (Wednesday October 5th) at 5:00pm Pacific // 8:00pm Eastern! More info here!
I just wanted to give Playhem a HUGE thank you for all the tournaments they run. Their dailies are super fun, easy to play in, and a great way for anyone to get involved in tournaments. If I'm ever left without something to do any night of the week, Playhem daily is my first stop - well run tournaments with a lot of strong players! Kudos

It's something we're aware of and want added also, our developers just have a huge back-log of features/bugs to work on and they're getting through it as fast as they can - you can expect a history page for tournaments to show up in the near future. For the moment though, if you know the ID or url to a past tournament, the brackets stay up indefinitely.

We're still here! The best way to contact us is usually to come in-game in the Playhem channels or to PM us +/- 1 hour before or after a tournament, we usually hang around to chat while things aren't busy.
On that note, Today's NA daily tournaments are starting in just over an hour! Sign up links:

The playhem.com site says they start at 7PM GMT which is 1 hour and 30 minutes from now isn't it? But the Liquid timetable says in 6 hours 30 minutes, which is it?

He did, but theres no real way to tell without obs'ing many many games. The opponent I'm referencing had just started an account (less that 1 week old) during the ladder lock, and had gone something like 15-2 on the ladder, and had custom games where he was "close" to beating a GM player. He reported him, but no action was taken...interestingly enough though, the Masters player won the next game, but the losing opponent advanced. I'm assuming because he also reported him, and he was banned.
It's really impossible to catch everything. In reality, you guys do a bang up job of catching those that you can.

If anyone has any confusion about the adjusted start times, you can follow the count down on the first post to get the accurate time till the tournament starts.

Seems TL classifies us as an "Other" stream even though the game is set as Starcraft II. If you want it not to show up you'll have to un-check "Other" from your sidebar preferences from the looks of it. Not sure if this is an intentional behavior or not.

Hey guys, I just signed up for playhem today and I am thinking of trying the 75$ tourney out. I noticed that there are players like min and revival signed up, and other amazing gm players. I am wondering if these are the actual pros or smurfs and do diamond players get paired against these guys or do diamond players go against eachother.
from 10-29 to 11-3 there´s a Mexican guy named maker who won 2 times and got second place three times, I believe that´s wrong, I´m pretty sure I remember the casters saying it was not him, but a korean using a random NA account.

Totally bro. Best of luck . You use points to sign up for tournies(which are essentially free and easy to get). Each tourny sign-up is one point for a daily and you get 500 to start off with. If you ever run out you can beg Neeb or Ben nicely and they'll give you a few

So-so. Not completely random. They're seeded somewhat. GM usually get a bye first round. But yes you essentially are randomly matched up. So you could potentially face a pro like HuK, violet, hwangsin etc, in the first/second round. And yes they're usually the real dudes Aint that awesome? :D
Not sure how to get there from the main site though.
Don't believe you can get to the brackets manually without an account. You'd need a direct link. If you have an account hit the tournaments tab and then find the tournament you want the bracket to and click on it .
While you're at it instead of just looking for direct links just sign up @ playhem.com and do it yourself :D.

I support this tournament. I watched it recently, and Rainbow vs vioLet provided some interesting games. Just because it's only 75$, it's daily and the money adds up, so koreans constantly come in and provide top quality games

Great casting today, one thing I kinda missed having there was looking at what the player scouts early game, casts gets a lot better when you know what the player saw or didn't see by checking their vision. It only happened like 3 times total like when the overlord scouted hasuobs two stargates and seeing how much more exciting it got when you knew that the zerg saw it and could see how he reacted too it.
Otherwise great casts! Hopefully there'll be more keys to give out tomorrow ;D

Ok, sometimes people in the Playhem casts ask for feedback and I've been watching for a while now and can't help but give some.
Neeb, you know me, you know I love Playhem, so please keep this in mind.
I can't listen to Lyrlian. I feel like he often borders on unprofessional to the players. Yes, sometimes, people make mistakes when they play, but often he makes comments that don't critique but rather degrades the players. Instead of saying "I don't quite understand what he hopes to accomplish here" I just heard Lyrlian say, essentially, that this was a stupid and terrible decision on the part of a certain player, and does so in a matter-of-fact sort of way. He basically will say that he thought that someone was ok but because of this that or the other he is stupid. As I sit and listen he "critiqued" someone for not having vision of a pylon that was in a random position that he didn't know about, a pylon that you would have likely needed complete vision of the map to find.
I guess what I'm getting at is it just feels like he expects perfection from people and derides people for decisions. You won't really find that except in the most extreme of circumstances from other casters. It just rubs me the wrong way.
I could say a lot about what I love from the Playhem Dailys, and I think I will soon, but... I really needed to get that off of my chest.

Thanks for your feedback, it's a good point you're making, I know I can be very harsh on players who make bad desicions or bad calls in my eyes. I think I remember the specific case with the pylon on anti shipyard which was in a place very often used for proxy pylons and warp ins. That's why I called it "bad" pro or near pro players should be aware of the fact that it gets used as a place to proxy pylon's at.
In general though you make a very good argument, especially when I am solo casting I can sometimes be a little too harsh on players. The specific broadcast you're now referring to was my first solo cast in ages because my co-caster didn't show, I was tired and sad to solocast and I let it out on the players too much.(also the entire tournament didnt see a game longer than 15 ingame minutes, guess it all added up).
I would invite you to join me again tonight on the stream and I will show you what I normally cast like. I'll make sure not to let my personal mood afect the style of commentary anymore in the future, thanks for watching! (:

Unfortunately we don't have the manpower to cast all 4 tournaments; it's hard enough covering the Open bracket twice a day every single day (EU and NA). There are sometimes independent casters that cover the lower leagues though so it is possible you would be casted sometime =D

Well I guess you just have to join the casting line up then so we do have enough man power.
I'm not sure if it's me just being an idiot, please feel free to call me out if I am XD, but I haven't seen the casts for the last 2 NA playhems. I checked playhemtv on twitch both nights and no stream was running. Are you guys just short on manpower in the NA atm because it is the holidays?

There were some technical issues yesterday and yes, a lot of people are away because of le holidays. Luckily I don't have a life so Playhem EU tourneys should be cast most of the time!

You're right, there's no way to acces previous tournaments on the website. I'm not trying to make any excuses but Playhem isn't about SC2 alone, it also does other stuff. And things we (you) might see as a priority, might not be as high on the list of Playhem as an entire organisation. (I'm only caster. Just speculating here.)
I'd love to have an easy overview on Playhem.com with the past tournaments + winners + replay packs for the entire tournament. Maybe sometime in the future we will all be able to enjoy such a thing ^^
SIDENOTE
I will probably cover the quarter-finals and onward tonight on my private stream after I'm done eating Christmas dinner with family.
Lyrlian, i love your casting, its really good, but one thing that I noticed today is that you call out gg's really early, things like that can really break the magic, that is all!
I know I do. No reason to make things sound nicer than they really are. If someone is dead, I will not be afraid to throw that out there I'll try to keep it to a minimum though, thanks (:
In my opinion live casting should not allowed in tournies that involve money. Playhem fails to prevent people from cheating in that regard, and it's highly uncomfortable situation where you can just load stream into dual screen as easily as just clicking a button.

I don't see a reason for that, since the 75% tourneys are open to all leagues, so why should someone not use a smurf if he wants?

Gold-Platinum is fine. Bronze-Silver is fine as long as you were legitimately and naturally demoted. If it's determined by an admin that you intentionally got yourself demoted to play in the lower leagues, you may be banned

They're playing in a tournament hosted by you and where you pay them real money. How is it wrong to ask them who they are?
What stops a player from using hacks on a smurf account? If he gets caught, you don't know who he is anyway. He has nothing to lose. Also he can use smurf accounts to play the lower leagues. He can join a tournament with 2-3 accounts, and play on the account that has a easier bracket.
A lot of abuses can happen if you're not willing to ask who they are ...

I always ASK them who they are but I will never take it any further than that. A lot of pro players wish to remain anonymous because they're practicing new builds or simply don't want the forums to explode if they lose to a player they shouldn't have or whatever the case is. If they want to practice in our tournaments anonymously, that's entirely fine with me, we see great games regardless.

I have to give major props to you guys for setting this up. The Playhem daily is super fun to play in, the website is amazing [although would love a 'remember me' sign in option. Having to sign in each time is tedious], and there's always something interesting to keep me watching (sometimes the dude I was vsing is streaming after he beats me, so I can track his progress and see where he falls). So, kudos :D
How can I follow the current tournament that's going on? When I create an account on playhem there is a screen for adding xbox/etc/starcraft2 ID that I can't get rid of (I haven't actually played SC2 for a while). Also there doesn't seem to be any links to anything from the home page.
Since the new overlay, as cool as it is, was introduced there has been numerous games with the players in the wrong positions. Some games it doesn't get switched.
In addition, I love Katu's casting but tonight there was sooo much random shit being talked about on stream during the games, and I found Katu disappearing during the finals to watch hockey, then coming back and talking about hockey during one of the games pretty unprofessional.
I watch every EU and NA stream, and this was definitely a thumbs down from me tonight...disappointing.

Hello Neeb and Ben, I would just like to bring your attention to a problem i have been haveing in the US gold-plat tornements. Up to date I have been supporting this tourney but it has come to my realization that the map GSL metropolis is not a balanced map, it is very favored by zerg, they can put 2 spine crawls in the natural to there base to completely stop hellions and early pressure. thank you for taking this into consideration, Biocause.

yeah dude, look for "round replays pack" just above the brackets
edit: or better, "full replays pack" in the top right of the bracket, just below "Champion", above the top 3 scoreboard
Is there any way to access the brackets for tournaments that are already finished? I'd like to know who won the last (17.01) EU Playhem Daily. I just saw that TLO and Delphi played each other in the semi-finals but wasn't able to watch their games as well as the rest of the tournament.

You can also find the replay packs on each of those brackets if you want to go back and watch those games.
Haven't gone through the entire thread so sorry if it's been addressed but didn't see anything about it in OP. Are you allowed to race pick / change races if you want? Or do you have to play one chosen race throughout whole tournament. If race picking is allowed, can you switch even within a Bo x? For example playing terran first game than protoss second. Are players who sign up as "random" allowed to race pick or do they have to play random every time.
If anyone knows or can point me towards info on this would be appreciated thanks!

You can as long as you have access to a paypal account (friend's or parent's is fine). You also wont be able to use the site to withdraw your prize automatically, but an admin can help with that.
If I sign up for Bronze-Silver, but practice beforehand and place into Gold, do I have to drop out of the tournament? Unlikely, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

Our own stats are also more relevant here I feel, TLPD stats mostly account for players that don't even participate in our daily but Presidenten is correct - my post was based on our own stats.

Could they please add a rule for players attempting to pause in an attempt to get the others to missclick the surrender button? This is becoming a problem for some very bm players.
Is Golden the only player ever to win both EU and NA Playhem in the same day? And if so, why is nobody talking about that... I personally watched him play 10 hours of Playhem yesterday, was crazy
Yesterday's (April 4th) EU tournament was great as always, but unfortunately the finals between Forsen and Kiljardi were marred by some extremely bad manners from Forsen. Ragequitting the first game was no real problem, everyone has done that at some point (except maybe Sheth), but after securing the win in the third game of the series he went on to verbally abuse his opponent, showing extreme disrespect and generally making a huge ass of himself. When winning. This turned an otherwise great tournament into one that left us spectators with a sour taste in our mouths instead of the usual great feeling of having seen two great players clashing in the finals.
With this in mind, is there any chance that Playhem in the future might introduce some minimal standard for player behaviour? I'm not talking super-serious stuff like the GSL where you can potentially be reprimanded for not saying GG before surrendering, but some level of respect between players really shouldn't be too much to ask.
That aside, I love Playhem. The concept is great and the casters always do a great job delivering an exciting broadcast, even one time managing to turn 16 straight ZvZs into something that was watchable Keep up the good work.

It's a problem with the tournament configurations we're working on at the moment. All the currently unavailable packs will be up once it's fixed (as well as all future tournaments). It's not a high priority at the moment but it will be fixed.
Is there any way we can get replays from the tournaments? I remember being able to access them through the bracket, but that options no longer there for some reason. Has it been removed or is there a fault that's being sorted out?

You could read four posts up :o
It's late at night, super tired + working >_<;;
thank you anyway (playhem and PB for pointing that out).
The daily for both NA and EU is canceled today (April 17th) due to technical issues, we'll be resuming again tomorrow with a doubled prize to make up for the cancellation. Thank you for understanding!

Map pool has been altered slightly as a short-term adjustment, I'll be doing a re-analysis of our stats and our regularly scheduled full adjustment of the map pool / starting maps later this week.

Hey you guys should do a double elim tournament since the rounds dont actually take more time the increase in time would be minimal. Other wise I love the casting
Is it just me...or is there no tournament today and tomorrow. I can only see the Bronze-Diamond ones. I am in Diamond but would rather play against masters for better experience and really push my builds. I am sure you can see them no matter what league you are in....so where is it?

EDIT: This is EU.
2nd EDIT: Ok, todays just popped up.
I still can't find any daily tournament on the site...
Just a note to anyone who missed it, bnet was having connection issues yesterday during NA causing us to cancel the daily, so NA tournaments prizes are doubled today! Be sure to sign up.
Did anybody just witness the 80 baneling drop followed by a 110 baneling drop by TSL_Hyun vs. mouzHasu? Ridiculous! Funniest thing I have seen in a while.

As of the last two days we've experienced slight technical difficulties. In light of these difficulties, we are temporarily postponing the dailies. We will be holding an event to make up for the short hiatus soon.
Thank you for your understanding, The Playhem Team
I was told I can write here why I think tal darim it should be removed.
I think it should be removed because there's no race that likes it, it's an outdated map and there are better alternatives out there (and I'm certain other good players would prefer 3/4 good maps as fixed starting maps instead of a separate one every round).
It sucks for protoss because of 4 gate vs 4 gate coinflip pvp. It sucks for zerg because of not being able to get a fast 3rd (people still do it but it dies to 7 gate, that's why pros take a late 3rd at the rocks) pvz, and it sucks for terran because getting a 5th base vs a good player is virtually impossible (tvp specifically probably also other matchups).
If you asked the players who you count as pros (I think it was 8 times in quarterfinals?), I garantuee none will be sorry to see it go.
I was told to write here about what i think about the mappool: In general I think the mappool is very zerg favored, atleast in the aspect of protoss vs zerg. The only good maps for Protoss right now is more or less Entombed Valley and CLoud kingdom. I guess Antiga works out ok too, atleast compared to many other maps that is used. I know that removing maps just because of PvZ might not be a good reason, alot of the maps that I dislike for PvZ is good in other matchups.. Therefore I would suggest to add a few more maps to the mappool, and maybe remove some too - Just so that there are more verity in the mappool and something that suits everyone.
My suggestions: Remove: Calm before the storm Belshir Darkness falls
Change version: MLG Entombed valley to ESL Entombed valley (Forced cross spawn, much more balanced) Korhal, change to the TSL4 Version with some changes around the 3rd base.
Add: Ohana Daybreak Shakuras
I think those changes would make the game play alot more fair, because on certain maps that is used right now one race gets a very big edge because of spawns or how the map looks. Its pretty boring to play a whole cup to start of a final series on best of 3 at belshir vs zerg - which gives you the options of either try to make a 3rd and lose or make a 2 base all in.. You will be so "un predictble", especially with the recent overlord speed changes.. Thx
On May 23 2012 06:54 viPro- wrote: My suggestions: Remove: Calm before the storm Belshir Darkness falls

Calm will likely be removed from the pool next update and the other 2 are uncertain still. Shakuras and Ohana were originally removed because of versioning issues so I'll see if there's any change with that, and since Daybreak is a ladder map now I think that's reason enough to add it back as well. I'll make an update when the next map pool change is done.
That looks like a well thought out update. Map pool will be the better for it.
[Edit] Though I imagine there will still be the occasional complaint about Entombed Valley in ZvP. Nonetheless, this goes a long way towards balancing the map pool.
I like watching games on it, but Tal'Darim Altar was rather unique in that players of ALL races complained about it. That would seem to indicate that it's pretty balanced, but on the other hand there's little reason to keep a map if very few players like playing on it.

Every map pool needs to have some imbalanced maps in it. If every map was focused on being a perfect 100% well balanced giant macro map then the meta game would be terrible and the game would not really develop that well.
With this being said though we do keep a constant eye on how maps develop over time and if it ever was the case that a map was truel broken in a certain matchup we would remove it ^_^

It is true that the map was very balanced when we ran it through sc2 gears 5 months ago. Almost 51 49 across all matchups. However a lot of players disliked the map greatly due to the current meta game. Also I bitched quite a bit about this map to Ben so he had me annoying him constantly.
Another thing to note is that this map is super old I WANT FRESH SHIT MAN!

make the big ramp smaller and it will look more attractive agian

Would it be possible to get another one of those big balance updates? I loved the thread with based on the 29000 replays. However this time it would be awesome to get the data on all the maps in the pool, not just the most played ones.
I would love to do it myself but it's a very big hassle to find old replays on your site. The most 'effecient' way I can currently come up with is to simply change the URL tournament number one tournament at a time to download the replay pack. Either I'm doing something wrong or the website can be improved upon in a major way. (Is there a way to show finished tournaments in the listing?)
To my knowledge, you can't easily access finished tournaments directly from the Playhem site. However, links to the brackets of most Daily tournaments can be found on the results pages at http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Playhem_Daily - Note though that replay pack downloads still seem to be bugged, so they may not be available for more recent tournaments.
that might still be hard and as we got new maps now it wil lbe very hard. last time i did it it looked like this stats its on swedish and not as well executed as ben's, but its a fast way . i guess its something, made in feb i think
For some reason the profile section that deals with my US battle.net name and character code dosnt work. Any ideas as to why? I have the right profile section from the online battlenet, but IDK how to get a character code. Do I just make it up, or what?
Just a quick question: As a streamer, do I still mark my stream as hosting the event 'NA Playhem Daily' even if I'm playing in one of the lower league tournaments (the bronze/silver, gold/platinum, or diamond dailies)?
The Playhem Daily is probably my favorite regular tournament in SC2. It's too bad to see that they don't get a lot of regular viewers, but it's understandable since actual streaming of the dailies is somewhat sporadic. I'd love to see backup casters when, for one reason or another, it doesn't get casted. Either way, it's great to have something with a significant prize pool every day.

Working on reimplementing a more steady schedule. Many of our old casters have other gigs and stuff, we're getting some more staff to cover all the things once again
where do I comment on the games going on for the playhem 7/23 7:00 PST
Sage fighting! I wanted to comment on the last game vs Sully and get some discussion going, so could somebody kindly point me toward that thread (or make one) thanks!
edit : so sully was just announced to be having a rematch with sage, because he apparently plays terran? ?!?!
As is pretty obvious from other comments in this thread, find a tournament brackets page of a currently running tournament is wayyy too difficult. Its a very minor fix and I think you guys should look into it.
Update: Just found it after logging in. So real-money tournaments aren't shown until you log in?

Read the 5 posts before you ^_^ Because of problems with 1.5 replays, they are on hold for now.
I have a complaint about head admin Frodan. In the diamond daily I got bm'ed by a player with: BG, noob (alot), STFU, GTFO. So I went to Frodan and he didn't do anything, he didn't even warn the guy for the bm. He only told me to ignore him. It is more then stupid that a head admin is accepting bm. I don't play playhem to get bm'ed and it should not be ok or normal to do so. If you ask me every bm player should be banned from the site.

Frodan used to be caster for playhem but he gave his EU account to the (north american) playhem admins when he left for NASL. This is the story of the Frodan EU account, more news at 11 :-)

I came to ask the same thing. The Playhem Twitch.tv account doesn't seem to load for me. It's been that way for the last few months, too. I really enjoyed watching these every night, and I wish I could watch them again.
Im writing this as an open letter to the Daily, also sending it to the moderators on the site.
The content below will be regarding this game: This Game and 1. The lack of rules for Threats, BM. 2. The importance of moderators staying to facts, not who is GM/M/Dia.
Yesterday I played in the tournament and got in a situation which became very strange due to it being an online tournament. I was supposed to play against Verdi, a GM-Toss in the round of 4. After my third game was finished, I went to the toilet for 2 minutes and came back to the computer. I was going to upload the replay of my last game to the site when Verdi wrote me and said that we were going to play. However, I did not know my next opponent and told him to relax for a minute so that I could upload the replay and confirm him as my next opponent. However, I joined his game-invite and told him to stay calm. He starts writing a lot of BM in chat.
He then randomly started the game, I instantly paused after 1 second. Here he stats threatening me in game chat (see replay) and I tell him to wait for me to speak to the moderators.
What happends is he tells the moderators I have not shown up for half an hour (which there is solid evidence is a straight up lie due to my matchhistory) and I the moderator starts telling me I cant waste the players time by not showing up (in other words, instantly buying the history of him).
It ends up with me sending the replay with Verdi BM-ing me, copying in what he tells me and also me pointing out that it is straight up impossible for his story to be true since I was playing my first game when he was supposed to have "contacted me".
I went to the website of the Daily to be suprised there are not any general rules about those kind of things. Lying, Theatening, just to realize there are no general rules about it. The moderator for the day also said "Just play the game, he is a semi-pro, it is good practice for you".
My point is that this kind of behaviour should never be accepted in tournament play. In a real life tournament, the player had been suspended instantly. If he is a semi-pro or a Bronze League-Hero should not matter at all.
I strongly suggest that the Playhem adds rules about BM, Threats, Lies and likes so that in situations like this it is easier to DQ a player then it was yesterday, with the moderator and me realising there aint any rules against him lying and saying a lot of BM. A player acting like Verdi did yesterday is not good for the community, being a GM-or not and wont bring any joy to a tournament while behaving like he did.
Tbh, when i look @ the match history of a potential opponent and see he won game 3 in the previous round, i expect him to reply with " okay give me two minutes for a bathroom break, please invite me to the game." Clearly he understands your his opponent and you shouldn't have gone the 15 year old way by *following strict code* and waiting to send in the replays.
I'd consider it to be more bm what you did to him than him to you.
Don't go to the bathroom for 2 minutes, then attempt to upload. Upload, tell him you'll be right back, and then get on with the games. Don't throw a fit because someone got angry with you for doing something rather inconveient.

this man is right (although verdi is a certified douchebag), you have no idea how annoying it is to play against several people in a tournament (who you will almost certainly beat easily) and each one of them has something to do that ends up wasting more of your time.

I have had same story with other semi pros. It is no secret that they threat more known players over unknown players, even going as far as bending rules in their likes even if you might be right. I don't think there's much to do about it since it's their tournament and they can do whatever they want I guess...
When is GSL whirlwind going to be removed? The map clearly favors zerg, allins are much harder to stop because of the supply depot making the ramp huge with 2 weak spots (pylon and supply depot), while at the same time it's almost impossible to stop a roach max thanks to the 3rd being so wide open. Tastosis themselves mentioned in one of their recent casts how most often Protosses do some wacky 2 base allin on it in pvz.
Could you please move it down at least to a lower round, it's so incredibly annoying having to always meet gm patchzergs on it 90% of the time I play in it. I'm sure by far the majority of other high level players will agree with me.

I would suggest to go onto Bnet and join channel Playhem, especially around Daily tournament time. There are admins around that can help.
Also, holy stacked dailies recently. On NA most of the top complexity players, a couple of TSL zergs, Byun and other Korean pros. Seems like a great opportunity for some community casters to get more recognition.

That's probably why there's no daily scheduled, be patient.
I'm guessing since there is no official announcement and several days have passed that it might be some sort of bug or a scheduled break for the people who have to run the tournament. That said it would definitely be nice if someone who was actually in the know could help clear things up :/
^^ it is really enjoyable seeing players way better than myself competing in these tourneys. the playhem gives many otherwise unknown streamers get exposure. hopefully it'll be back up again and on TL. cheers

More like they've gone bankrupt and all the money is gone. Thank god I removed most of the money already, still got some left that I can't get out either (like noispaxen/pink) though.
hmm they have changed the design of the website now a little... a thing you wouldnt do if you're out of money... but still no dailies. i miss them... play some games on my level without losing points before i start laddering..
Website redesign and also I was able to withdraw the money finally, so hopefully they arent bunkrupt... Would love to hear smth from people involved though

How did you withdraw them on the new website? Because as far as I saw on my profile I just lost the 20$ I had on the website as I couldn't withdraw before.

Still not letting me transfer the $5 I won in the last gold/plat tournament. In fact, it doesn't even show that I have the $5 anymore. It just says that I have 499 points. Very annoying...
