lol japan esports, missing since 1999

Daigo, Fuudo, Kindevu, Mago, Sako, Tokido, and Momochi beg to differ :F although I guess the fighting game community doesn't consider itself part of "esports"

No man you don't get it, there is no such thing as esports or competitive gaming outside of starcraft.

BTW, we are still looking for English streamers for this event. Please pass the message on to anyone you think would fit the bill!

As much fun as it would be to cast this, I've had no social life for weeks because of too much traveling. Don't exactly want to kill my entire weekend to wake up at 5AM but will do it if I gotta ;D
I do stuff in eSports

I think I never saw a match with someone from Japan, really looking forward to it. Nice prices, just looked it up and it´s ~1:100 for euro:yen, so quite an amount of money, especially with hardware prices as well.
You should add the [ time] [ /time] tags in your OP (without the space in the bracket), this will translate it to every viewers timezone who set it in his profile. Always minimates confusion 12:00 GMT (+00:00) starting time.
Good luck with it!

You should not say the rest, if you are looking for a caster :D
The best will be if you contact a caster you see on the right bar. Special Endrey is always likely to cast some matches. He´s quite active on TL, so just PM him if you want.
Don´t open a thread to search one, they normally get closed, contact one directly if possible.

Part of the reason SC2 isn't terribly popular in Japan is because it is not sold there nor localized there. I was there this past summer and you can only buy SC2 in specialty "foreign game" shops in electronic store districts, like Akihabara, for a significant premium.

That being said, I am really glad to see some Japanese players involved in the SC2 scene!

It is coming this Saturday! Any of 8 players are famous in Japanese community, including breek as a WCG2011 Japanese national player. I believe it must be very fun.

Yes, there are some pro-gamers in the field of Fighting game. Actually they do think that they are a part of "esports", but just they do not say so because "esports" is not major in Japan. I am an admin of GODSGARDEN and sometimes talk with Japanese pro-gamers.

Blizzard localized Brood War for Japanese, but not Korean or Chinese (as far as I know) and it didn't sell at all. That's probably why they didn't move to localize Starcraft 2.

This is great for someone like me who loves starcraft and japan. ^^ Really interested in seeing the japanese players and skill level. Hope that sometime in the future they can compete with korea and china in games like this.
