The following is a list of behaviors that will get immediate bans:
1. Whining about stream 2. Bashing other games 3. Flaming other users 4. Bashing players 5. Complaining about imbalance
Basically just be respectful. Aside from that, enjoy the games, make sure you bring an umbrella and have some delicious waffles! (#) |

Thats a weird system there The thing is: the rules are not really clear in that regard.
The reason behind those Code A invites is to lure members of the foreign community to Korea and make them participate in GSL. Select and Moonan both live in the US. It doesn't make sense to give Puma an invite but Ganzi not.
And I highly doubt that Puma is training with foreigners. Playing with lag and training with lesser players is just not as good as playing with a good connection against Koreans, he still lives in Korea afterall. Except the few days between IEM and MLG, where he was in America.

No, but he can get a Code S spot. Code A is for foreigners only. He can get Code A since he is in a foreign team. I doubt it. AFAIK the place of residence is the important thing. since puma was always able to take part in code a qualifiers and often did, it would be unfair to grant him something other koreans do not get granted. same goes for hero of course. select is a totally different story. Yes, but when GomTV were asked on this matter, their answer was : Korean = member of a Korean pro Team. So that could mean a Code A spot for PuMa, the one very hard to decide case would be HerO though, as he is TL but at the oGs house with the oGs-TL partnership. Ask yourself if Jinro could get code A spot then the answer should be the same for HerO regardless. Both are living and playing in the same situation.

Can someone explain to me why DRG is first in his group? 4-1 as Select, then the win/loss should count... same wins as Select, MORE lost as Select...
why isnt Select first? I like DRG, i dont get the system here :D
Thanks

i think his up and down matches might be easier than to play this tourney against coca, bomber and puma....though bomber and coca are alrdy code s so he might only have to take at least 3 if it's bomber vs coca finals, if it's bomber vs puma finals -> he's screwd, well but let's not forget what a beast he's in tvz, the only ones defeating him there so far are mvp and mma afaik

Thanks He won against Select 2:0 so apparently direct comparison counts before map score. @ AsnSensation He isn't qualified for the up/down matches, is he? Afaik he lost in the ro16.

What up & downs, JYP knocked him out in r16. DRG retained Code A but he has not shot at Code S outside of MLG.
DRG has a great shot since ZvT is his best match up and Bomber's worst. The bad thing for him is that Coca's not as (consistently) good at ZvT as he is at ZvP so Puma's going to be in with a shot too.

I thought DRG went out in the round of 16 in code A, you have to make it to the round of 8 to have a shot at the up and downs right? So this would be his only chance at code S this season.

As someone already mentioned, the results from the smaller events are counted towards the final event, which has a $120k prize pool instead of a $14k one. The top 16 ranked players are guaranteed a slot in the RO32 in the winners bracket of the final event. And for a team that does not take a cut of a players prize money, the prize pool is actually secondary, the exposure of the event is the important thing for the sponsor. If you look closer at the players in attendance, you'll realize that there are basically 3-4 teams and the invited koreans there:
EG: idra, puma, huk, incontrol, demuslim, machine etc Liquid: Jinro, Hero, TLO, Ret, Tyler, Haypro Dignitas: Naniwa, Select Fnatic: Rain
And there are still a lot of quality players missing, which is probably mainly because of the structure of the tournament and as you said, the low prize money.
Thorzain, merz, elfi, darkforce, lowely, nerchio, mana, brat_ok, strelok, white_ra, stephano, tod, sarens and cloud are players that I can name of the top of my head that are missing.

what happens if trickster gets the code s spot. he is already code s but only if he survives the up and down
is he going to do the up and down anyways or is his spot in the up and down going to be granted to another person ?
(probably wildcard tournament like always i guess)
