Basically just be respectful. Aside from that, enjoy the games, make sure you bring an umbrella and have some delicious waffles! (#) |

How can you say Noblesse outmacroed IdrA when he had 60-70 scvs for 2 patches of mineral in the main and 3-4 mineral patches in the gold. A bit of common sense please. was at the same supply with idra the entire game? his minerals and gas were in double digits while idra floated over a 1000 with his macro hatch not even hotkeyed?
LOL. You seem to know how the game and specially the zerg race works. I mean, having 1000 minerals on 3 bases when you are going muta in the mid game it's alright, couldn't be in any other way.

Hatch first openings is a greedy build. When half of the TL readers knew what was coming before game 3 started should have been a sign to open 14 pool. Hatch first is not a greedy build. It's standard and keeps you even. Its this stupid mentality that loses IdrA games.. Noblesse committed a lot of economy to that rush, IdrA would have been far ahead with a pool first still. It's 2 rax map, IdrA should have expected it.
Idra is stupid for not blind countering it then? That's basically what you're saying.

On Xel Naga too. It wasn't exactly a dominating win, but still, very impressive.

Idra's done as a serious professional player IMO, he just doesn't have it in him anymore.

Stream showing ret ending his game; doesn't look as excited as I'd be if I had won, so either he lost or he's playing it cool?

Nada...for now. So unconvincing lately, but still good enough to be considered all round stronger than Ret.
u sure? from wat i saw yesterday id give ret a 60-40 edge(skillwise)

but back to the 3bunker, 2 racks analysis; hind sight being 20/20, idra should've made more than one spine crawler at the outset. his first crawler was about 80% when he canceled it b/c it was at like 40% health. if he had 3 crawlers, at the very least 2 of them would have gotten up, buying him some more time to figure out how to hold. instead his first crawler was canceled and he gg'd before the second one popped. i'm not surprised he lost the 3rd game, but that ridiculous ling/roach "all-in" in game 2 was bad.....

Dude....were you even watching? Idra was up 2 bases almost the entire game, and Nobeless' great macro skill that game consisted primarily of pressing the "make marine" button. Plus he was on 2 mining bases MAX the entire game. It's not good macro if you just turtle on 2 bases the whole game while trying a fail drop every 5 minutes. The only reason he looked so solid is BECAUSE he's playing Idra. If you have 12 broodlords, 10 corruptors, 6 infestors, a crap-load of lings/banelings, and aren't being harassed for 90% of the game....vs a T that stays on 2 mining bases the whole game, you should dominate. Place any korean Z, or even guys like Ret/Sheth/etc in that same situation, and they steamroll that game 5-10 minutes early. I'll bet Destiny could have pulled it out if he ended up in a late-game like that.
Idra played a decent game 1, and then just quit mentally.

IdrA does have well thought out builds, yes, but he always seems to lack the ability to "turn it on" and take his game to the next level consistently in tournament situations which is what makes you the best. His past showings at events like MLG, IPL, and elsewhere have shown this. Yes he's a good player, but I would easily rank Sen, Sheth Nerchio, and Ret above him.
EDIT: I would have some issue saying he is the best lately, DIAMAGA, Stephano, and Darkforce have been really good lately and have performed better than idra at this point.

All EG hate aside, Idra dropped spectacularly in skill and particularly in mental strength since coming back from Korea and the ones already based in US have been constantly poor. I don't think the talent is the problem but rather a lack of discipline, the lack of a proper coach maybe.
That being said, GOOOOO NOBLESSE! :p

Not several games. His play is alright, mindset awful. Sen, nerchio, stephano all so much better atm. Also Idra has never won a tournament that isn't pure NA. he isn't the best foreign zerg not by a long shot. So him beating Liquid Sheth (someone omst people consider pretty top, even better than Ret) in the finals of a major tournament a couple weeks ago means Sheth is also terrible or what? Has Sen won IPL or MLG or anything similar? Nerchio? Stephano? I mean, they each individually have consistent small results, but people talk about GSL as the Holy Grail because of its size and talent pool, thus I think larger tournaments count for more. Personally I think Sheth = IdrA in skill and both are pretty tip top of foreigners. Actually Sen's NASL result is far superior to idra's IPL and MLG results. Idra won both tournaments when there were only foreigners. Sen won against Koreans. as sen would say : "you don't play against koreans. you newbieeeeeeee!!! XD" lmao. But he's right. Beating Koreans but not winning in tourney>winning in tourney with no Koreans.
