I've literally never seen a guy like Major ever. He just fucking won 10k $ lol, and he is not showing even a glimpse of happiness oO. Love his play though.

So what am i watching here the mickeymouse qualifier for people with a LA background that get a easy road towards Blizzcon? dont tell me that they have 24K prizepool for this aswell cause ill cry T__T

The prize pool and distribution for all qualifiers are the same. The North American qualifier players benefits from this (due to the lower quality of players) somewhat as well in comparison to the EU one, albeit not nearly as much so as this one.

I think it's just fair to distribute equal prizemoney. The other logic would be to hand all the money to the dominant koreans anyway.
I hope the prizepools like this encourage more players from every region to get into pro-play and start practising and competing more. By this way the foreign-scene could get more competitive and wouldn't had to cry when "their" players getting kicked out of Code A.

I don't disagree with the prize pools being the same, but it is very obvious that this was a far lower level of competition overall than the EU qualifiers, and that it's consequently easier to get the same amount of money and the same Blizzcon invite. It's just a pseudo-unfortunate side effect of encouraging competition and make it appear to be the same level of tournament (even if it's not).

To the smug assholes, put it in perspective: what would you think if the Koreans looked at EU or NA and said, "$10,000 for beating these players?"

The prize pool is to encourage growth and publicity. Quit hating.

Sorry bro i didnt know you would be mad.

Anyways they should've just merged LA with NA for the qualifiers, they money is nice and all, but they dont stand a chance of winning anything at blizzcon, maybe Major can take a game off someone but i doubt it.

Considering Major has beaten Naniwa in tournament play before and Ret said he practiced for the past month with Major, your statement is incorrect. He's as good as any other foreigner at blizzcon.

Well then what they should have done is just give all the money to GSL to increase their prize pools for August Code S.

In that case, they should merge EU and NA qualifiers as well since they dont stand a chance of winning agaist the Koreans.

No, merge the entire world, it'll end up Korean only anyway.
