It's essential to block the route of the bf hellions buildings or the fat queens so that drone kills are minimized and the spine crawlers can go to work. I think this type of defense is preferable most of the time because it frees up gas for infestors or mutas, one of which is absolutely required in ZvT mid-game. Spine crawlers aren't required in the main if you block the ramp with 2 queens. This type of defense also lets you push out a ton of creep really quickly from the additional queens, and bf hellions that aren't in packs will still go down fast to zerglings on creep. This is actually the way that I've seen DRG handle bf hellions on Dual Sight in one of the GSTL matches (I think it was vs. Ganzi). | ||
