Can someone tell me what's the advancement of the tournament and what players are left?

Are Goody and the winner of Hak-Returning the only one left?

The size of the tournament doesn't matter since from the RO 32 onwards there are the usual suspects in the small tournaments who participate in the bigegr ones too. The only difference is the prize money. But the actual players are the same.

So many people point out Goody's mistakes on streams but it is kinda "friendly" (Take, Cloud, Darkforce, Naruto, HasuObs...)
Even though they criticize him, they show respect for his playstyle and his achievements.
But you just sounded like someone who is rly pissed, about Goody's success.

He complimented Goody's opening, his thor pushes, and his hellion defense. Seems like you and Naruto are just upset that he is pointing out Goody's mistakes.

Have you ever heard me casting a GoOdy game? I do point out his mistakes and I make a bit o fun of him as well. But I do not completely ignore the right decisions in the game and I do not ignore the mistakes of the other person. It was Strelok's game to lose, if you like it or not. If you want to bash on someone - bash on Strelok - he threw the game away BESIDES GoOdy not playing his A-Game.

As I said, TLO didn't ignore Goody's right decisions. He pointed out his opening, his hellion defense, and his thor pushes.

That was a unique game with a lot of mistakes so you can't be mad at TLO for pointing them out. That's his job.

Funny how someone just says weekly tournaments don't count anything. Stupidest thing ever. Maybe he has never watched one? Stacked with the top of the top constantly. But right they don't count anything. Anyone could win those.

by the standards of some in here Kas, Brat_ok, Mana, Nerchio, Happy etc. are all average EU-noobies, because they didnt win any big events

people can pointing out goodys mistakes, make some fun about his play etc. but they have to show respect for him as a player, he has earned it with consistent, succesful play. And TLO ( especially as a fellow player who hasnt won anything big either) not showing any respect is why people (imo rightfully) complain.

I guess Goody's asset is his game sense? At least that's what I can gather from his games. Everything in comparison is quite bad I think, but his decision making is super strong too...

It's mostly his patience and the fact he is the only guy playing like Goody. Ever had a really bad player do something really weird/dumb against you and it works?

pretty much this. not saying goody is weird/dumb, its just his playstyle is so unique. look at NASL where his opponents had time to prepare for him. He went 2-7. His mech really can throw someone off in a regular tournament where its a completely different type of play.

to be fair he was in a slump during the NASL time. After that episode of unsuccessfulness he went back to beating the top players in tournaments that have known his style for a year. It's definitely not that if you prepare for GoOdy it's autowin. Such a dumb statement. DarKFoRcE who was said to have invented the perfect Zerg counter style to GoOdy lost to him in HSC3 0-2.

He was in a 9 week slump? HSC3, Darkforce was preparing for more than just Goody too. In a tournament setting like HSC3 or a TL Open, Goody's style is much stronger because players aren't used to it. When they have a week to prepare against it, it is much weaker. Hence the 2-7 in NASL.

Everyone by now knows he is meching. Don't act like there are no mech players besides GoOdy. Pure bullshit. His hard is just VERY HARD to play against. Thats all about it. Its not hard to play against because its NON-STANDARD. Its hard to play against, because mech is hard to attack and hard to abuse.

Just because you know he is meching, doesn't mean you are prepared for it. It is hard to play against because it isn't standard. People don't have as much knowledge to know how to attack it and abuse it. Given the opportunity to play against it often and properly prepare for it, mech becomes much weaker.

And I'm telling you no. It gets "easier" as everything becomes easier when you face it more often or prepare against something in particular. You act like GoOdy is a cheesy person and people can't really have a straight macro game against him which is not true. I know his style, I've prepared against it and its still amazingly heart to exploit and beat.

Ask Kas, he is the ONLY Terran (as mentioned before) that constantly beats GoOdy. I'm not a GoOdy fanboy, but that bashing is unreasonable right now.

Of course everything becomes easier when you face it more, hence why in tournaments like TL Open you can handle standard play easier and someone like Strelok, a great Terran, better than Goody, can go through the bracket with ease. But then he hit Goody, who plays a style that is rarely faced so he is already at a disadvantage right there. Players don't have nearly as much prep time for against the mech of Goody as they do against the standard play. That gives Goody an edge.

I'm not calling Goody cheesy at all. I like to see the mech. I wish he would improve his macro because it is horrible. I feel like his play could be even stronger and could start a real mech tech switch by Terrans in general. We haven't seen him perform that well in a big tournament and its because of his bad macro.

I'll just enjoy the stream now and let people discuss. And I want to mention again, I neither dislike TLO or Chill. I just don't agree with the todays casting of GoOdy vs Strelok. Other than that - good job and good tournament as always.

TLO's casting is so good. HE is insightful, funny, makes great reads, has so much to say because of his vast playing experience, and his knowledge of the players and the scene.

He also comes across as a genuinely warm and friendly person. I also don't really have a problem with the way he was casting GoOdy's game vs Strelok. Even though he was being pretty harsh, there was a reason why he was saying the things he said, and everything he said had a justification for it in some way.

However I am a little surprised, given how friendly TLO is, that his reaction to GoOdy's post was so cool and cold.

I would have wanted one of my favourite SC2 players to be nicer to one of my other favourite SC2 players. It is a little disappointing.

It's pretty funny that you with your flaming and insulting background (remember especially back in Broodwar towards dario) whine so much about an maybe harsh but pretty objective critic of the gameplay (and not the person like you like to do so much) of a single game.

This discussion is completely getting out of control. While there may have been some room for discussion regarding Goody's reaction and the cast (mind you, SOME, not a lot), what's currently going on here is ridiculous. The Goody haters should show some more respect, and the people actually daring to trash-talk Chill/TLO (I'm looking at you, Norseman) should quickly stop posting in this manner and in this thread.

Focus on the games, and be happy we have a promising final inbound.

This, essentially. GoOdy triumphs because of his unique style, but he will not be able to live off that forever, it's obvious that he has some issues with his macro, and it's something that people shouldn't ignore simply because his style is unique or because he can swing lost games around. Bad macro is bad macro, and getting it pointed out to you is nothing to be upset about.

this is was people say since beta xD

Let's not pretend Goodys been winning tournament. He's an average EU Pro, who's known for his unique style but results wise, there's nothing to write home about.

The hell? He has won a ton of tournaments. Check the accomplishments on his TLPD page, and compare them to those of TLO.

EU weeklys mean nothing. Every EU player has a shit load of $100 tournament wins because there's like 10 a week.

Oh ok, then you should have no problem finding me 5 EU players who have won more of them. Since he is an "average EU pro," there should be at least 30 guys who are more accomplished.

European Players who have achieved more than Goody at tournaments which matter:

Thorzain, Naniwa, Hasu Obs, Socke, Morrow, Sase, Ret, TLO, White Ra, Dimaga, Naama, Mana, Kas.

I'm sure I've missed some people.

Nice attempt at dodging, but let's get back to what I asked for. You claim that "Every EU player has a shitload of $100 tournament wins." Find me 5 players who have won as many of them as goody. Since "every EU player" meets this criterion you should have no trouble.

Nerchio, Dimaga, Kas, Happy, Strelok, Morrow.

You sound very biased, and you assume everyone should treat goody the same as you and your friends, maybe there are some people who find not using mule and queuing multiple units as actually bad thing worth noting despite the player being winning or losing the game its called being objective.

He did not ignore Strelok mistakes... Its just you generally dont see 200 energy orbital for 5 minutes in any pro match, and some people are not used to cast goody games so they are cought off-guard by his macro.

I hope you enjoy casting this, because with unprofessional stataments like this and child-like insults during a game I doubt you'll be asked to cast again.

If nothing else you should respect the fact he's in the finals of the tournament you were brought in to cast. Again, point out all the bad you like, but when you attack the players or the match as a whole you're doing the exact opposite thing you were brought in to do.

I can't speak for others, but I've always had a lot of respect for you. You're better than this kind of petty crap.
