Idra has not won anything prestigious in a long time, and he never made it past RO16 multiple times. His last win was IPL which, while a great tourney, had no koreans and very few europeans.
While Idra whines about balance everyone else wins.

Idra made it past the ro16...1 out of 4 gsls? I don't count that as multiple times.

Neither has any other zerg player, so I am sure he is not that upset
Huk has an advantage of being with oGs as well, he would not be a good as he is without them for practice support.

Haven't been able to stay up and watch code s for awhile, were the games any good? Awesome to see huk advance but either mc or huk gonna be eliminated sucks big time.

Nestea? Moon? Losira? DRG? consistently do very well and even win tournys here and there. The idra defense is really annoying here, he's a great player but he has not won a huge prestigious tournament in quite sometime. Granted most of his outings are to mc, who as he said is a respectable player to lose to.

Even then Idra is the top or second best zerg in most tournaments in terms of finishes so what's the difference really? Huk hasn't had anywhere near the consistency Idra has had because he's made much longer of a progression.

Where did I say idra isn't a top player? I said i'm sick of hearing all the bs about zerg not being able to win tournys. That's all.

Not sure if they were announced at the end of the broadcast, but the matchups for the Ro16 were posted.
Nestea vs Ensnare Genius vs Coca Tester vs Clide Top vs Losira
Zenio vs HongUn Huk vs MC Byun vs Nada Polt vs Bomber
Out of those...I really don't know how to call Huk vs MC after Homestory Cup.
More importantly though, just at how that bracket is setup. It would take stars aligning and then crashing into several players houses for a shitty finals this season. Nestea should have an easy road to the finals with Ensnare, and 2 potential ZvZs. Even if it's not Nestea, it'll most likely be Losira in the finals.
On the other side of the bracket...Huk, MC, and Bomber. Not to count Polt out after his super tourney run, but given that he has to play Bomber in Ro16 I don't know if he can make a run to the finals. Still, he beat MMA, Bomber has something to worry about.
We could see Nestea or Losira vs Huk, MC, Bomber, or Polt. Personally, any permutation of those players in the finals sounds great to me.
Of course...we could also wind up with Byun vs HongUn or something, but the odds are highly against it.
Edit: The bottom half of that bracket is so full of possibilities that I didn't even directly address. This is turning out to be a really exciting season. MC/Huk might be hard to call, but Bomber/Polt is going to play a huge roll in determining who makes it to the finals. If Polt beats Bomber, I can't see MC or Huk making it further than the semi-finals. If Bomber wins, he's shown consistency in beating MC, but I'd like to see if Huk fairs any better in that matchup.
God damn I can't wait to see how this plays out.

People that say that are just exaggerating, the main point he is probably right about is the volatility in staying in tourneys as zerg because you're on shaky ground until you can get into the mid game. Other than that, you have to have a bit of a filter when reading into some of his comments.

Idra has more raw talent than Huk. Huk has more practice than Idra.
This is the classic foreigner vs Korean debate isn't it?

Idra prides himself on his mechanics, most of which were probably developed when he was in Korea for Brood War. Idra has a far stronger background than Huk, not more talent.

No, but I wouldnt say he is good at it bomber is terrible at tvz though so it would lead me to thinking that Nestea wouldnt 4-0, but probably 4-1 in games that have alot of mistakes from both sides
Bomber has a 70% win percentage against Zergs. 70%. On the same day he went 1-2 against Moon he 2-0'd July in July's best matchup. His recent game against Kyrix was a completely one-sided victory. By no measure can you say that Bomber has terrible TvZ.
And about Nestea, he beat SC in a bo5. His TvZ is excellent, it's just that Top took advantage of some holes in his early game, and Nestea himself has said he wasn't playing his best that day.

I just jumped straight to the last page of the thread as i wondered the reaction to the games and been out all day. How has an Idra disscussion hijacked the thread?? who cares about idra all the time?? In every tournament american idra fanboys bring him up. Why? Really? Why? He is a decent player, but one of many "decent players". He hasent won anything meaningfull and is a shame to his sport alot of the time due to his constant moaning and disrespect. Also IPL wasnt a meaningfull win for him. It was NA only and im sure if any Koreans or even europeans were in it they would of smashed most of those players that took part outta the tournament.
Big Cheer for Huk finishing top of his group. Happy MC made it out too, should be a good rematch from homestory cup between those two in the next round. =]
