Yo does anyone go to ANY of the Miami Dade campus? I used to go to FIU, so I can put some of these things on the boards around campus. Would help promote the tournament if we can get people to post on BCC as well.

Homestead campus here :p that would be awesome if some of you guys could post the fliers around MDCs, BCCs, and any other schools/colleges. The more people, the more prize pool, the more money to distribute to top 8 players

For the tournament sign up you just have to show up at the LAN at 11am I believe.

Tourney starts at 1 pm, 64-man bo3 double elimination? I think you mean sunrise the next day. Sign me up btw. Game, still don't play SC2?
No sir. Maybe one day

Here is the LAN Center for those who wish to look at the venue. There is an extra 8 HIGH-END computers on the other side where we will probably have the top 8 play in it.

Hi, I'm new to the boards but found this post via Google. I'm around the airport area and Sunset Place is a hop and a skip away and the venue itself is great and the owner is mega cool.
Anyway, if it's not overstepping my boundaries or antyhing (I would hope not!) I'd love to attend. I've moved back into the area a few months ago and I'm really looking to make new friends and meet some likeminded folks into the game.
So I'll probably be showing up to play since I don't typically work Sundays.

This tournament is gonna be so sick. Counting down the days

Just some advice, consider starting the tournament earlier just to be safe. You don't want it running too late on a Sunday. Not doubting your organizational skills, its just that a 32 man double elim tournament will play out 63 matches total (2 * # of participants -1) and a 64 man tourney will have 127 bo3s. Average length of a bo3 plus setup time can last anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour (TvT anyone?). Do you really think you can finish that before midnight if you start at 1pm? You gotta make sure you have matches running constantly and be strict with players getting dq from not being there during match time. Just giving my input as I want this tourney to work out.

Hey Cochoz just FYI if you want it over before sunset, good luck.
At the NESC2 League (double Elimination tourney) we had 25 people and I think the final match ended around 2AM.
Started around 12:30 1:00

We have enough computers to make the tournament a run on ... once set matches are available to play, we will be continuing. We're not going to wait for a specific round to be over to start another. I expect the tournament to last 4 to 6 hours. We have plenty of PCs and as for setup, once there are 32 players remaining, players will be stationed at a specific computer for the remainder of the tournament to avoid setup issues. If we get to ro16 at a decent time, I will also provide the players with a 30 minute break and give a heads up in case they would like to go eat. Which btw i expect everyone to have a good meal before the tournament starts because it is unknown as to whether they'll be able to go out and get something.
EDIT: Sunset will be around 8pm that gives me 7 hours to take care of things. Once again, it's our first tournament and we learn from mistakes. I've made plenty of 16 players double elimination and it takes me a little over 2 hours to finish it.
