Sadly it seems I have to put this up yet again. Any of the following types of posts will be met with immediate bans:

Imbalance whine/Player bashing/Caster bashing/Stream complaining/Off topic arguing.

Stick to the games and enjoy the event and its free services and coverage.

He didn't give up his citizenship at all, you can't just "give up citizenship"... he's American plain and simple. So much disinformation going on in this thread....

I understand that but huk stated he wanted to play in the U.S. WCG if it wasn't for lag implying he still held his U.S. citizenship.

Anyways...going in a dumb direction.

That is always what the discussions have been about and Huk winning proves it even more. I don't think anyone has claimed that Koreans are born in a particular way that makes them better.

They work harder, have better regimes and also gaming is accepted in Korea on a whole different level than rest of the world.

There a few blatant racists 150 pages ago in the thread

Well HuK still scouted the 6-pool a mile away (granted, that was somewhat lucky). Definitely had ample time to prepare whether or not he heard day9.

That's exactly what the foreigners vs. Koeans discussion is about. HuK is essentially a Korean -- he lives with, plays with, and does everything with Koreans in Korea and he has done so for months now.

It should be quite obvious that Korean play is far superior to nonkorean play just by looking at the results of any LAN tournament Koreans attend. Even this Dreamhack was domianted by Koreans to the point that not a single Korean (yes, I include HuK as a Korean) lost to a nonkorean at all.

I didn't know Koreans had the monopoly in hard-work...

I'm sure it's no longer a western thing, protestant ethic finally disappeared. So you can consider that it's an asian monopoly, they've the only culture that promote so much hard-work.

You have to come here to Silicon Valley and then talk pal.. France != western world.

Since this has turned into a discussion of geography and everything not SC II related.

France is and has historically always been catholic so not exactly protestant work ethic

Glad to see the outcome, and I don't think it's really appropriate for people to completely dismiss alot of the topics mentioned in this thread. The world is not color blind, race blind, or post racism. If you think so, you are probably an idiot.

Congrats Huk for being a baller!

He had a fantastic showing, and I think it's nice to see a foreigner take a title over Koreans. Not that I really care that much, but let's be honest, it does matter in many senses for the growth of e-sports and the inclusion of western players in the korean scene and vice versa. GGs Huk!.

People don't consider SelecT a Korean player right? Especially as people always refer to him as the best NA Terran. It's not your nationality, it's where you live and train. Sure HuK isn't a Korean person, but he's practically a Korean player, just like Jinro and IdrA was.

You're a little off, SelecT is Korean when he wins and he is not Korean when a foreigner beats him

Huk is a Korean if he wins also a Canadian also an American and he is a foreigner if he doesn't win.

In 3 months, the best foreign players would be Huk, Thorzain and Naniwa but I'm sure by then, they wouldn't be considered "foreigners" anymore.

The Swedish minister of culture (and all the major political parties youth organizations) had a debate on one of dreamhacks streams earlier today, discussing topics like culture & sports funding/taxing earlier today as well.

did they talk positive about e-sports?

Thank you Dreamhack! This was a really nice tournament! Personally though I would enjoy Fri-Sun schedule more as it interferes with work less and monday is generally a little too depressing day for finals in my opinion.
