BYOC WB finals

Some nice games right now, with Sarens vs MeYera

Sarens has an impressive micro, i'm not sure the rest of his play is on par with it tho ~~

LoL MC makes fun of HuK's top 3 control! I'm glad to see that it's a joke that's even popular in Korea.

Yes, pretty crazy that they are still playing. They must be dead tomorrow.

Yeah, this may be the only major flaw of DreamHack... BYOC winners will have nearly no rest time before tomorrow (considering the loser bracket is far from being ended...).

This is not meant as a flame or anything; rather, it is an honest question -- what's wrong with Tyler? Where are the results? Is he playing poorly or are his opponents simply playing better? Tyler seems like an articulate and cool dude; his BW pedigree speaks for itself, so where are the SC2 results?

Enjoying Dreamhack so much. <3

Sarens is one of the 2 BYOC winners. He now has to wait a few hours for the LB to finish before being allowed to sleep...

Both ThorZaIN and MorroW said in interviews from DH that they wouldn't be attending more MLGs =[

That's probably because they would most likely have to battle through the open brackets again. Thorzain is 20-21 on the points ranking though so if 4~5 players above him miss out, he might consider going.

Well while that is true, it's mostly due to MLG treating open-bracket players like crap and not giving them breaks on their strict schedule, like ThorZaiN said he could not get water or to go the bathroom because MLG would have disqualified him if his name was called and was not there for his match if he would have left for a while. So while he did perform well, it was a shitty feeling and the conditions were terrible.

First time hearing that. If true, it's pretty bad. Maybe they should start the open bracket a day earlier and give the players a little more breathing space.

From his Fanclub thread:
On June 09 2011 23:42 Thorzain wrote:
Well on the first day we played until 3 AM and had to be at the venue again at 9-10 the next day, so we could only sleep for around 5 hours.

Their schedule wasn't followed at all. It could say that you would play in 5 minutes when you in fact would play in 55 minutes. It could also say that you had to play in 1 hour but you could have to play in 5 minutes. That lead to the constant fear of leaving the venue because even if it said that it was an hour until the next match i risked being DQd every time i left.

Also we werent very well respected by the admins. For example when i was gonna play vs qxc in the open bracket I had just finished another bo3 and was called to go play vs him. I went to the station and just said that I had to go to the bathroom and get something to drink because I was dehydrated (There was only dr.pepper in the venue and since it was unsafe to leave that's all i drank that day), but they told me I wasn't allowed to and had to play immediately, even though the game wasn't showed anywhere. There were no time to warm up before any of the games, we only had time to do our settings and then jump right in the game, even at those times we were ahead of schedule.

The only break we had was on the first day, friday, for around 1 hour. There were no breaks on Saturday or Sunday so I couldn't even eat. All i had on Sunday was french fries which i bought right after one of my games at the food court just outside the hall, and even then I was told that I was late when i returned.

At the last day, Sunday, i bought a lot of water and had in my backpack so that made it a lot easier, and made me actually able to play good on that day.

Some guys that have been at other MLGs told me that it was the worst MLG so far, organization-wise.

The seeded players had it better, they had computers to play on, places to sit and water and food inside the venue. Of course it's understandable that they can't do that for everyone in the open bracket, so I'm not complaining about that.

That's why I probably won't go to MLG Anaheim unless I'm seeded.

Yikes. That's hardly fair, but I don't see any solution unless they'd be willing to start the BYOC a day early or something...

Watching him play, it's clear that he decided his whole course of action before he landed in Sweden. He doesn't care what his opponent is doing- rather, he just does the "build" that he came up with regardless.

I don't know how BW is played, but you must play a more reactionary style in SC2, imo.

I think it was asked many times, but i REALLY can't search through 575 pages: What about Idra and Grubby? They have the same points. Will there be an additional match between them? On the offizial page (http://dreamhack.binarybeast.com/xSC21106162) Grubby is listed as second place.

While that may be true i wish the DH page would get corrected, as it shows that SaSe and Grubby advance

So close to being Grubby's first big tourney showing. He did beat TLO and get I think 3rd in that one European tournament not too long ago. 1 point and only 1 point stopped him from tieing Idra in his group. He took down Kas' TvP.... Grubby is only going to continue to improve and I think will soon be a top protoss contender. Really disappointing he couldn't make it further in this one but the results are still positive in my view. He has a lot to hang his hat on getting to tie idra in matches in clearly a very tough and closely matched group.

OH SWEET as I'm typing this Grubby Vs Idra (top 3 fav's along with Huk and his top 3 control (SRSLY HE IS)) is up on Day9's archives ^^

eh he didn't play that well

honestly, considering how good that group was i (and many others in this thread) were disappointed with most of the games from that group

we were very impressed by sase who managed to demolish everyone (including idra) in his path

but everyone else was just meh, not even idra really deserves to advance considering the way he played today, compared to how the people that advanced from other groups played

That was already answered on this page, as well as probably 50 others. IdrA advances.
