On the Idra issue (Spoilers, obviously!)

Warned!

Important bits are:

"The seed will be decided by won matches, won games and who won the group stage match between possibly tied players."

So, it's Match Wins (record), Games won (total) and then Head to Head.

Idra & Grubby are both at 3-2. Idra @ 7 wins, Grubby @ 6 wins. So Idra wins that tie-break. If they went to Head to Head, Idra won that 2-0. So Idra should advance unless he withdrew from the competition.

As for Dreamhack's posted result, it could just be the result of changing the database and it just updated for some odd reason. We haven't heard anything about Idra dropping out, so it should be Idra until someone gets full word.

That's a weird way to count wins.
If you go by normal sports rules they both have 3 wins with a score difference of +1.
That's tied.
Then you go for highest score which is Idra 7-6 > 6-5
If still tied you go head to head, Idra > Grubby.
Sometimes you go head to head then score, in this particular case it doesn't matter.
If you're not getting better faster than everybody else, you're getting worse.

He didn't seem to be raging at all judging from his games, he stayed long enough to know it was over for sure and GG'd in all of them.

Because Grubby is more awesome than IdrA?

Yeah, great, just the answer i was looking for.

sigh..

Idra was said to be sick today so perhaps he pulled out? Hoping it's not true though I prefer to see Idra. (yes very unpatriotic from myself)

Yeah that makes more sense, a shame though. =/

Grubby went 3-2 (6-5).

Idra also went 3-2 but with 7-6.

If dreamhack thinks 6-5 is better than 7-6, they are going to put Grubby higher. And Grubby is also more awesome, which counts.

So grubby can get outted in the next round? IdrA beat grubby anyways so i would think that they would go to that for a tiebreaker as well. Which should mean IdrA in all possible situations unless he did withdraw. Which i kinda doubt because i haven't seen any twitter update or FB from Eg about that.

I'd think that'd be the tiebreaker too, but it could be whoever has less total losses comes before player vs player tiebreak, which would explain the situation. Official rules anywhere?

That would be the dumbest tie break ever, especially when Idra has more wins. If its anything but head to head, its fucked up.

Uh, disagree. If two players (A and B) went 10-1 in their matchups, with player B's only loss against player A, but player B went 2-0 in every game exception for the 1-2 loss, yet player A went 2-1... sorry but I would consider player B the stronger player. Less blind bias please and use some logic.

What? So your saying even though B lost to A he is the stronger player?

If oGsInca beats oGsMC in a PvP is he a stronger player than MC?

It would be really weird for Idra to travel to Sweden and then forfeit. He must be seriously sick if that's the case.

Grubby has the higher win rate:

Idra - 7/13 is about 53,8%
This way it seems quite reasonable to me why Grubby advances.

IdrA won head to head.. to me that means IdrA is the better player here.

Well by game wins it could be argued they are tied, Idra has 7 wins 6 losses, while Grubby has 6 wins and 5 losses, putting them both at +1. This would give Idra the go ahead with the head to head.
