I know it might not be a big deal to you and you probably don't care, but I paid money to join this tournament and I don't want to lose vs marine/scv all in on close.
Is it so hard to add "MLG" before these two maps in the rules? pretty sure you could have looked at what maps are being played before signing up, and xeris is busy getting the bracket up have patience! The map pool was added 3 days ago. I joined much earlier, but that's not the point. The question is: why maps with close position when they're obviously imbalanced and every competent tournament has them removed? They're the most common forms of the map. #_# Why are u giving me such an ignorant answer? You think it's funny? Get some clue about how well run tournaments work. None has the battle.net version of Meta or Shattered. And I'll give you some example because you sir seem to be clueless: MLG, GSL, ESL Tournaments, DreamHack, etc etc. Common where? On ladder? Please change them asap because it's ridiculous. Why can't a big league like NASL have competent organizers?
I have to agree some of the employees of NASL are horrible. It has so much potential and it just throws it out the window with decisions that could be made better by a random forum goer here at TL.

Is MMA playing in this one?

Xeris with another zinger, irritating fans and alienating viewers. How about actually answering the guys question instead of making some silly comment with a number sign face. Best PR guy ever IMO...

Cyclone I would suggest just playing on the MLG version anyway, I can't believe your opponent would argue against it, and if this issue gets enough attention they'll be pretty embarassed.

I know he is signed up for the Qualifier tournament next week, don't think he is in this one.

MMA is playing in the next one.

Reading through this thread, I think it might be a worthwhile investment for NASL to hire a PR person. Xeris is just alienating people left and right. He's basically persona non grata at r/starcraft. Looks like this will happen at Team Liquid, too

Xeris is just handling the brackets guys.. I dont think he is their PR person. I can attest to how frustrating it can be to manage a poor bracket system (was at ESL for 6 months!). As for the map issue.. that's not my department.. but I do agree a straight up answer would be best in this situation.
Again.. Xeris.. if you need some help let me know.. I am sure I can get some CSN guys/gals to help you out.
Cheers!

Quote from Xeris interview when NASL started.
XERIS: Who needs a PR firm when you have the notorious X.E.R.I.S. But really, as you can see from the Q&A thread on TeamLiquid, for example, I can handle criticism and won’t lose my cool. I will be handling public communications for the NASL from this point onward.

Thorzain has whiplash and bubbles but he should do fine. THOR FIGHTING

ahh.. I was mistaken. Still.. its not easy managing a bracket system that's known to be borked and one with 180+ players... so we should probably cut him a little slack.
|
Well seems the brackets are up. Anyword of this Open Tourney being casted or at least streamed live?

I don't see how managing a bracket has anything to do with answering a participant's legitimate question about the map pool though (with answering being more than a one-liner followed by a #_#)
EDIT: Whoops you're talking about a completely different issue, but half my point still stands.

NASL showing the GSL how to not do it. This thing seems so ridiculous . Painuser would have been way better off doing this. It doesn't make any sense why the person who wins this deserves it just as much as the players who went threw groups. Also would have loved for the 10$ price to be known or brought to attention before signing up wish i could unsign from the website from the website somehow.

He only had to add 6 letters in the rules. That's all. But he's not doing it on purpose for some weird reason.

I agree.. but I was just addressing the issues others have raised about the brackets themselves. I agree that an answer does need to be given.
Also.. players were not told about the 10.00 until after the signed up? That cant be right can it?

it is not right. it says in the OP its 10$, and that they won't be signed up until they make the 10$ payment. so they'd have to confirm the payment before being signed up.
