Okay we're going to start cracking down on people bashing players for no reason. You don't have to like every player, but at least show some respect. (as of page 402)

So at the end of championship pool play, final tally on Korea vs. The World (I've been keeping track since the start)

Moon: 3 - 2

July: 4 - 0 (his loss was to a korean)
MC: 4 - 1
Losira: 5 - 0

Koreans: 21 - 3

If you take into account that Moon isn't even good enough for Code A, and that MC said he was extremely jet lagged against grack, I think we can end the argument here. The gap IS huge.

Korea FIGHTIN!! ^^;

ok annoying me now. I like how people are only counting the GSL invited koreans. Moonan went 0-5 and Select went 0-5.

Neither of them play in Korea. This isn't a race/nationality thing, it's about the competitiveness of each scene.

Then how come when ever someone brings up good NA players, they discount Select because he is Korean?

I don't think I've ever seen someone discount select as the best NA player on the grounds that he was born in Korea. What are you talking about?

Quit making excuses for Koreans. Freaking hate this. First its the server lags from cross country, then MLG decides to fly Koreans over for LAN, BUT NOOOOO That's not good enough for you. Now they have jet lag. Freaking deal with it. Top foreigners can easily take out Koreans, they aren't fucking Gods.

Excuses? Koreans have destroyed foreigners so far.

Yeah, you're including the wins of the tier 2 Foreigners, maybe if Gomtv sent over tier 2 koreans, we can start talking about wins and shit.

But as far as I'm concerned the Top top foreigners are doing REALLY REALLY well against the Top foreigners, stop trying to feign Korean dominance when there isn't any.

21-3 is quite dominant

ignoring the lower tier koreans in MLG that went 0-5 I see.

Did you miss the entire page of posts explaining why your original post was really stupid?
Did you miss my point that your understanding of nationality is really stupid, do you really think QXC is spanish now or Demuslim German or TLO swedish you dont change nationality because you live in another country for a few months/years. I just dont see why you need to overegg the stats they are still impressive even if you include Moonan and Select.

Did you miss the 50 people who explained that this isn't about nationality? -__-;;
How is counting the stats of KOREAN players not about nationality...I have no words anymore.

Who are the top top foreigners? The pool of top top foreigners seems to change everytime a Korean crushes one of them. Literally the only victory a top foreigner has over a Korean (minus the substandard Moon) is MC/Idra. Compare that with Losira over Incontrol, July over Sjow, MMA over Sjow, MC over Tyler, MC over Select, MC over Thorzain, Losira over TLO, MMA over Kiwikaka, July over Kiwikaki and I really fail to see how 'top foreigners' have competed well at all.

This is the part where you pretend players like Select and Kiwikaki are not top foreigners so go ahead.

I think most people agree top foreigners are like Thorzain, Naniwa, IdrA, Morrow, White-Ra, Dimaga, Huk, and couple other players.

Select and Kiwikaki have had way more success than Morrow and Dimaga. Sjow has one of the largest earnings outside Korea, those three are clearly top foreigners as is Ret who won Assembly.

Yea..what has Morrow done at tournaments except for when he won IEM when terran was broken? I don't see him as a top player..Sure he's getting NASL wins but not much else.

MorroW won an IEM and took 2nd at Assembly
What did KiWi and Select do that's "way more" than that?

Well Moon is an average korean and he lost a bit. And the other 4 are without a doubt 4 of the very best players in Korea. If these guys were only playing 4 of the top top top foreigners e.g. IdrA, Thorzain, Nani and Whitera, I'm sure the results would be fairly balanced. The koreans are playing people who are not on their level and not the best the foreign scene have to offer. Ofcourse all of these code s calibre players are pwning random foreigners, but the best of the best are still fairly equal in my opinion.

Uh, no. The foreigners you mentioned are the best of the best foreigners. The Koreans sent to MLG are 2nd tier (-MC) compared to the likes of MVP and especially Nestea.

Nice try though...

....MMA, Losira and July are all top top tier Koreans. MVP, Nestea and MC are debatably the 3 best in the world but Losira, July and MMA can all beat those 3 and have done on occasion. So please just stop they are not second tier lol.

Well, compared to MVP and Nestea, they are definatelly a level below, some could say a tier below, and it would be only semantics. Their "tier" seems pretty fair to be compared to the tier of of seeded players in MLG. Of course you can't count the wins from July in the Open Bracket, like someone has.

It's just a matter of how far below the top you need to be to be considered "second tier".

Didn't July start in the open bracket? A bunch of his wins are vs below average players, only good one i can think of is vs Kiwi. The best way to judge the koreans is on how far they get in the late rounds.

I don't think people like Polt Prime would dominate MLG

They only show complete matches. They don't hold up matches to show Game 2 or Game 3.

At least usually they don't.

They are on an incredibly strict schedule.

You should be happy with all the great SC2 you got to watch instead bitching about what you didn't get to see.
