Teamliquid has many sub-forums. Each one no doubt thinks they are the best. But which sub-forum is actually the best at Starcraft 2? I make a challenge to the following sub-forums and threads large enough to be able to put together a team.
Guild Wars 2
Osu!
Health and Fitness
Mafia
A Team-league tournament, with matches played in the standard SPL format. I will do a draw to decide first round matches randomly. I will pm all the "leaders" of the respective sub-forums/threads for confirmation.
Map-Pool
Xel-naga caverns, TSL Metalopolis, GSTL Taldarim, GSTL Terminus SE, GSTL Crevasse, Shakuras Plateau, ICCUP Testbug
Each team needs at least 6 players available(one of them playing twice as an ace should it go to the 7th game) for each series. You can change around your team between series as much as you want. Games will be scheduled at each teams convenience and casted by volunteer casters from around the community. Post any questions/concerns you may have.

All matches will be played on the US server, sorry not much I can do about that.
I decided to make this into a 4 team tournament.

I'll let each team captain decide whether they want to play the games live or want them to be played beforehand. The matches will be streamed and casted on the same date, but the games themselves can be played beforehand or live. Health and Fitness vs Guild Wars 2 will have to be cast from replays. Once both captains of those teams have pm'd me with their full rosters I can set up matches, which can be played whenever. LoL vs Mafia will still be live streamed hopefully!

Some are sub-forums, some are threads large enough to be considered sub-forums and put together teams.

Even though a lot of good players participate in more than one sub community I think dota/hon wins way easily in overall skill.
Testie, Darkcell, Zelniq, Pokebunny, JF [ unlikely ] and then a buncha high masters.

Just letting you know that I've made a topic in the eve forum inviting people to form a team and for someone to organise it. I'll let you know how that goes but I'm more of a bw man myself.
However, if you can get a bw game going then I'll happily take on an entire team of SC2 players myself on hunters 1v4.

also i'd have no problem with touhou team but show some respect to your greaters. h&f has more posts, is older, and gets you more women than touhou.

Did all the other subforums ignore this? lol.... every other subforum has one or two superstars like nony, ret, midian but in overall team skill i've yet to see any argument against hon/dota.
that list except for jf is pretty much regular posters too...whereas some of these are ' oh hey this guy posted this one time ' in the spirit of the competition it should be semi regular posters or people who were once heavily invested.

What does "SPL format" mean?
It just means you send in players 1 by 1 until a team has 4 wins, and if it goes to game 7 you can play a player who has already played?

Red, how many teams have confirmed that they're playing and are ready to go? I think as we post that and start getting casters/streamers etc set up more teams will realize that this is really happening and will get their shit together.

see the problem is a tournament doesnt work in this format unless we have an amount of teams divisible by 4. If I can get 4 more teams to sign up then yeah. But otherwise it probably isn't going to work.

That seems the best universal time to play. Not too late in Europe, and a decent time in US. Its very difficult to have a time when everyone can play. TSL was this time and it seems like the best option. I don't know a better/more convenient time for everyone.

Why can't each team leader be sent the opposing team's roster with identifiers and then the players can pm their opponents to set up times to play, and replays can be saved?
If we try to have this set at a specific time and date H&F will have to forfeit. These guys have jobs and lives and live all around the world, it's too much to ask us to all get on a specific server at a specific time with no real incentive for that sacrifice. I don't see the necessity anyways when this is just for fun.
Speaking of TSL the games weren't actually played at that time.. it's just when it was streamed. I am pretty sure that the games were played at their convenience hehe.

I pm'd all the captains, they should send me their full roster, tl.net Id's, and battle.net nicknames and identifiers. The 2 teams can then organise when their games will be playing. You guys have 10 or so days, playing one game each shouldnt be too hard .

I don't get the Ace match, the point of an Ace match is to pick your best player, but you pick Tal'Darim for us to be the Ace match? Was I supposed to put my Ace on that map?
