From a "strictly business" point of view, you are certainly right. But it would be sad to by-pass the most competitive tournament in the world, and one that's going to be really significant to the fans, for the easy money of a NA based tournaments assorted with a bunch of good to very good European players. That's the difference between sportive competition and stealing candy from babies.

Because he's a shoe-in to win this MLG just like how he won the last MLG.
Edit: But then again he never got ro4 in GSL either. Self-owned.

I am.. stunned.. that's sick!:D damn..

would be nice if idra goes back for this
and this make the code a games super important as bomber and ryung is just outside the cut off. although with some absence in top 60, they would have made it anyway.
wondering if the players are seeded based on their points.
|
Everyone wondering about IdrA, what about Ret =P? I certainly hope he goes back as well. If I've missed something and he's already announced it, don't hate ;>.

List of the current top 64?

I am STOKED for the super tournament. I wonder if the brackets will be based on GSL points. Can you imagine bomber being matchup up against a code S gosu? Oh the possibilities make me all giddy inside

Fortunately Bomber and Keen have enough points to make it through, but unfortunately it seems Ryung is 65th and just barely on the outside looking in. As someone mentioned before LiveForever might be in the army so that might free up a spot. If Idra decides not to participate then violet gets in as well.
edit: ninja'd

When they say "Top 64 players in terms of 2011 Regular Season Point Ranking", does that mean the first 3 GSL seasons from 2010 don't count?
|
IPL/NASL/EG teamleague, and even DH if you make it to Super Tournament finals, conflict with this, so I'd say there's no chance whatsoever of Idra attending, even if he could technically play with his NASL/IPL games from Korea.

I'd like to note, IdrA still qualifies.(31st place)
Will he play in it, it the question.

I believe that GSL WC is counted the same as GSLs, with the exception that the WC points is not valid next year while the points from GSLs are accumulative from year to year.

Assuming the list on liquipedia is up to date as of today (though I don't see the rankings changing anymore that could affect up to top64), we can assume only 3 or 4 players not participating:
Ret, Idra, and LiveForever. Might think Loner could be back in China, and I'm not sure if he attempted to qualify for the latest code A. Loner may have left, but I guess going back to Korea wouldn't seem unlikely for him.
Now, assuming at least those 3 are not going to show up then Keen, Violet, and a 3-way tie with Min, Creator and Nuts are up for the last 3 spots.
If Idra and Ret decide to participate, then only Keen gets bumped up.
Edit: Oh wait, no. If Violet and Keen make it through the Up and Downs they can knock someone out. Ryung is not safe if one of them advances and he does not.
