Yes, this is the attitude to take. Again, let's not focus on the competition between the two, but the fact that both excellent tournys exist and they are both drawing fanbases.

Why does there have to be competition. @_@ Just enjoy the fact that there are so many people who are supporting Starcraft 2 and giving players reasons to practice and play at high levels!
|
I hate cross and backwater T.T Is the biomech style in TvP common in euro terrans?
|
Yo NASL ima let you finish but IGN pro league has much better production value!~
|
lol for people comparing the two tournies:
ipl - totalbiscuit reaching out to newcomers to "ignore the jargon" and "focus on the action" nasl - gretorp calling sjow's tvp build order/map strategy exactly as it happens based on past matches
the production value may be higher, ipl may have nice overlays and pretty pre-match versus screens, but im gonna give nasl the edge in content value

The stream absolutely awful quality for anyone else? cant read names, so blurry, stuttering. Usually I dont have problems and ign stream seems fine. Anyone else having a tough time with this?

IPL deserves it though, its just better.

Ra expanding across the map, harassing with great results

So many viewers!!! IPL sitting pretty at 13k viewers now, it deserves it though the quality is much higher :D if esports is to succeed, those numbers have to be WAY higher. That's nothing for a normal sport. A regular football match of any of the top three leagues (no derbies or special matches) attracts around 800k to 900k people from all over the globe and much more when top teams play and whatnot. Not saying esports should aim for those numbers but 100k viewers is a min. all organizations and leagues combined should attract. Also, not clashing schedules should be made a priority by all those interested in making NA esports grow. More viewers per all leagues, makes for happier sponsors. Anyway, sick game two by Sjow!
A normal sport? Like curling, or all the other hundreds of sports that are televised daily with fewer viewers than a regular season (first season also) NASL match?
It does not need 100K viewers to succeed at all. You sort of pulled that number out of where? There are other sports that would kill to have the live audience of SC2 right now, and they have been around since forever.

oww I really like this Khaldor guy casting.
|
..this is a LR thread, not a comparison thread.
|
people wouldn't be making all the comparisons if nasl didn't have the sound quality and framerate of a 1997 webcam broadcast.

If either should be worried it should be the IPL to keep the tournament results hidden.

Change it to 480p resolution on the bottom of the vod. It really helps.

numbers for the streams going up steady looks like we're going to have a good old west competition between NASL and IPL

I don't get why people don't use a scan to kill an observer when the other players is going hardcore colli.

Yeah, this is right. Esports should not be compared to traditional forms - it is a new frontier for a cutting edge audience. I'd say that the various leagues are doing just fine, and viewerships can only increase.

C'mon White-Ra! A little more! Special tactics ftw!

Looks like White-Ra knew exactly what Sjow was up to.
