Corruptors can't kill void rays. Ever. Corruptors fucking suck ass, basically. This game demonstrates just how terrible they are.
It's funny, I ran into the Void Ray + Stalker + Collosus mix today in a game and I was on 5 base, max 200 supply and tried to do what Mondragon did with Corrupter/Roach. I remaxed 3 times losing my entire army 3 times and Mondragon even tried corrupting and still got wiped out.
Pretty sure VR+Stalker+Collosus is invincible vs Zerg and once a Protoss gets there it's completely over.
(I even tried a full remax hydra/roach and lost that army too. Maybe infestor in that situation, don't know really.)

The problem was that mondi kept suiciding units, and not causing enough damage, all the while cruncher kept getting more void rays & collosi. Just because he is multi-dropping it doesn't mean its effective.
|
All of you complaining about undeserving win and what not, just because the guy drops 6 roach's in a base over and over doesn't mean he should win ? It's his fault for not following up the harrass with a swarm of units when the protoss was down.
|
The map did win the game more than Cruncher did.
Mondragon couldn't secure another base. He had a problem after his first 3 bases dried out.
|
Well played drops, counterattacks, scouting and decision-making by mondragon!
Also, great a-move by cruncher!!

I think mondi shoulda pushed out a couple of extra drones. 60 is kind of low.

Agreed. Mondragon won : D

I think that gg might have been a bit too premature? though his bases weren't too well satured, but still
anyway, this style of playing zerg is just an excellent form of entertainment to watch
|
yay cruncher! protoss underdog show em what imba roaches can achieve!
|
Great game by Cruncher
Love how he anticipated one of the attacks at the 12:00 after the roaches attacked the 3:00...very smart.
Also like how he went more phoenix heavy play to use GB's to block the queens for the voids (compared to the last game where he clearly didn't build enough phoenix).
Even GB'ing the roaches while doing no damage just to buy time for the reinforcements to arrive was great play by Cruncher.
Dragon did some clever things...but would have liked to see even more roaches and mutas and much less corrupters.

And that's what Protoss does. Everyone tells Zerg to harass but Day9 always say the most true thing when it comes to Starcraft.
"If you're opponent is doing cutesy tricky stuff, just go kill him."

So many small mistakes that game, uggggh.

Okay, I'm not whining, this is an honest question about the description of Cruncher! I haven't seen ALL of his games, though I've seen quite a few, and to say he plays an unpredictable style, isn't that wrong? I mean, he's pretty predictable. He does have other qualities that would describe his play better. Just saying :- ).
I don't mean it as whine or being mean towards Cruncher, I just feel its like writing Idra loving to rush.

Forecasting a high chance of stargates, with colossus later in the day,

I hope that's just based off all the QQ and imba posts and not a real one...

Mutas are a lot better against voids than corruptors are, corruptors take bonus damage due to their armored classification.
I have no idea what mondragon could've done. He played it like how people said that idrA should've played against Cruncher and it doesn't matter.

Mondi outplayed him SOOO much!! I am so sadface right now =(
