Why would he play again if he's already qualified? Everybody signs up for all the qualifiers before the events start, and if they already qualified then there's no reason to play in the rest of them.

actually there is, just have them play a marathon of games of people that lost to him before the round of 16. Any one that wants a second shot should be able to get it if it he isnt eligible, or it kinda invalidates the placement of the last chance qualifiers and the prestige of the US qualifier. I know i could have gone much further.

and as for people saying IdrA threw his matches... Hes Disqualified from every future qualify due to qualifying and cant play in any qualifiers at all by the rules. He signed up for every qualifier when they went live, like everyone else. which is why he appears in every qualifier.

I don't want to get into this much, but this statement leads to all sorts of trouble. The official policy then appears to be that the online qualifiers are open to those that are citizens or those that have an application in process, correct?

This can lead to trouble as these applications are not equivalent to that of applying for a passport. We are talking 12 to 18 months here for the process after one has submitted their application (source1, source2, and source3). Can you clarify WCG's policy if his citizenship does not come through in time?

ie: Does the 2nd place player from a qualifier he is in attend? Is it that all the 2nd place players from the 8 qualifiers get to do a mini-tournament to decide who goes? How much notice will these players be given (if any at all)? Or does Moonan get to the exact WCG USA finals date to get citizenship and if he fails to obtain it all of his matches are just forfeits? Or can he compete in the WCG USA finals still with his "pending" status?

It might not come into play (I hope his application goes well!), but I am curious as to the rules for this complex situation to best understand possible scenarios. This information will also be useful for qualifiers in the future. Thanks!

i agree with bluewolf this could become really confusing, when did he apply? and what if it doesnt go through in time or fails... as then you have alot of online qualifier matches with invalid games =/

I sent messages to you both on the WCG website. You guys play your match tomorrow, 1.5 hours before I'm supposed to play one of you.

I just moved yesterday, and the internet guy hasn't been able to come yet. Is it ok with whoever wins to postpone the match a day or 2?

Typically if a player can not attend or isn't eligible the 2nd place of the quali will get the spot. If the 2nd place player qualifies in a subsequent qualifier (I know this happened last year) notifications were sent to players who made the top 4 of the quali inviting them to the finals.
