Anyone else feel that Diggity deserves a perma spot on NASL?

YES! Please NASL bring on Diggity more often!

I AGREE 1000000% I mean WHO THE HECK was the mystery euro caster on the middle 2 games...he was AWFUL!! He was so loud, and when you combined him with how loud and silly Gretorp was it made for an awful commentation experience. Diggity made those other 3 commentators look like CHUMPS! If I here Gretorp say "INDEED" one more time I am going to freak out!

Go Diggity!! NASL if you are listening I hope you are going to go with the better caster (Diggity) and not just stick with the other 2 guys just because they were their from the start. Think about how you want NASL to be professional....

Woah there, settle down.

Khaldor is awesome, don't hate on him. I don't think he had the best chemistry with Gretorp, but Khaldor is one of the best casters out there.

It did begin to irk me that Gretorp seemingly has to preface every event with "be able to". The players did something, they weren't able to do something.

*settling down*, hopefully Gretorp will improve, but ultimately I just want to see Diggity commentating full time as he is VERY good.

Unfortunately I don't know if Diggity can afford to do it. He isn't on a pro team like iNcontroL/Gretorp that pays him a salary, he has a real job (though I don't know what it is). I don't think he's even a Youtube partner! He's married too. I'm so happy for him the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, though.

At least the reaction was positive here. Even at smaller tourneys the reaction has overwhelmingly been WHO IS THAT DIGGITY GUY LOL WE WANT SOME GUY WE KNOW. Not awful, but ignorant. If NASL gets big, and could pay diggity a reasonable salary (I am under the (possibly false) impression that his job pays poorly) that would be an awesome setup.

instead of going for barracks 5-8 ensnare should have gone for reactored medievacs and start dropping. he got away with a greedy opening and didnt do anything with it.

i don't think it's "greedy," it's "oh hey d00d, you just put yourself on a clock, you need to attack...oh wait tiny ramp lol, you should've made medivacs"

1rax expand into 4rax expand is pretty greedy in my eyes. yea right the ramp. either you go medievacs to drop all over his bases or you rally all you got to his base and dont let him get the deathball. ensnare did neither.

yeah, it was stupid, i would call "greedy" something like overexpoing, or teching too fast tho. making lots of rax is the opposite, imo. "greedy" =/= "early hyperaggression." and when the drops did happen they sucked "lol, let me drop on a cannon," "oh i hear marauders are good against probes, i won't kill your buildings don't worry"

im not saying playing greedy is bad. it is actually good if you can get away with it which ensnare did and resulted in a 50 supply lead. its just that he went for 3 base mass tier one with extremely late medievacs and didnt attack at all and was just asking to get killed off by colossi.

its like artosis said ensnare didnt impress at all since the beta.

oh man i misread your first post. yeah you're right, the 3rd base was greedy (and smart), and should've paid off, but he wasted it on the worst unit comp you can get on this map against collosi.

when will people start to talk about balance for the colosus ?

or you guy will tell me the game perfectly balanced ?

i know teamliquid hate that , but seriously they deserve it so much .

when each time people can only find to say : dont let them get the army ! attack them before !

for exemple in incontrol game he got force field , that not like Ensnare can run up the ramp and win before .

they are something realy wrong with the game when 200 protoss army alway win every fight .

im only high master terran and not that good at sc2 curently , but i dont need to be a pro gamer for know they are something wrong with the deathball protoss army .

Are you actually saying that terran should be able to a-move a huge bioball with very little air support and no mech into a small choke before 3/3 finishes and kill an army with a large colossus count?

Really?

Terrans used to be able to do that in the early months of the game. Then Protoss figured out how to defend against it and now Terrans are too busy QQing to branch out and find a strat that will work (i.e. not QQing and actually think).

I would love it if he could get "bought out", he could probably sweet-talk his wife! From the looks of live reports from today and yesterday and the suggestions thread he has been the one universally praised part of NASL. I know they have big connections with iNc/Gretorp, but from a marketing/business standpoint...people love the guy, it seems!

More than that, he deserves everything for his commitment to Starcraft, just like Moletrap does, and Cholera (wherever he went). Klaz got his book out so maybe he's okay haha.

Hmm. I was under the impression that article was talking about Korean teams. Doesn't EG have the means to do that? You may be right, though, I remember the article. But those two have supplemental income from streaming/tournaments/etc., Day9 makes a substantial amount from blip.tv/the daily. Diggity isn't even a youtube partner!

Had fun listening to the stream tonight for the most part, wasn't expecting Incontrol to take out Ensnare.

My biggest issue with trying to use watching the NASL as leisure is the gross difference between gretorp's lowest and highest volume, seems like there needs to be some sort of compressor or something to equalize his audio and still drive home whatever intensity he has to project on engagements. It's a bit better than the first day; he seems to be somewhat getting used to his role as a commentator. Diggity was soothing to listen to when I could, though I spent some time on vent with some friends drinking and muting the stream some of the time.

Too bad about the WR v July match. Looking forward to the awesome matches on Thursday and Saturday~

I love Diggity's rapid fire casting style, it's very unique and very few casters could pull it off.

You are correct, some western teams pay their players salaries such as Liquid, EG, and Fnatic. TSL is the first Korean sc2 team to pay salaries.

It's really easy to sit on the sidelines and comment about what Terran SHOULD make to counter Protoss armies, but it's a lot harder in practice. If you look at the map, it's a very hard map to drop on against a turtling player, since ground travel distances to drop spots are so short. Mix in the very long distances base-to-base and mech becomes less appealing (not that it's even very appealing to begin with). Then you add in the small chokes connecting all the bases and bio is also countered quite easily. I'm not even going to entertain a real response to the suggestions about nukes.

There really just isn't a good way for Terran to engage on that map without a boatload of experience on that map with that kind of play. The real annoying part is the lead Ensnare had, but couldn't find a way to capitalize on it, and basically lost because incontrol plays Protoss. If this was a TvT, TvZ, or ZvZ, the game would have been won by Ensnare.

No, getting nothing but pure bio isn't going to be the next big thing on ladder.

right. terran should be supplementing their bio with beefy dps units right? like colossus? terran have colossus right?

Actually, Terran has the highest dps unit in the game.

But what was really missing from his army was vikings and medivacs.

pretty sure carriers are the highest. marines are either 2nd or 3rd with zealots close behind i believe.

Per cost, Zerglings are actually the highest. The trick is getting them into a position to start doing damage.

gretorp is the worst caster I've ever seen, including all the stand-ins that gomtv had during tasteless/artosis' absence.

A total of 3 posts and you are busting out gems like these. Constructive criticism goes a lot further than just flaming.

I personally thoroughly enjoy listening to Gretorp i personally believe his casting style is better than a lot of others out there - but that is my personal opinion

Diggity was out of this world though - so damn good!

As many people have pointed out, he's loud and overexcited at things that he shouldn't be excited about. He overhypes standard play and overrates average games. His commentary is rarely insightful, too longwinded, not funny, and he occasionally seeks attention for himself rather than focusing on the game. When he casted with Incontrol on day 1 he was constantly being corrected, and rightly so.

I wish I had the option of muting one of the casters and not the other to be perfectly honest.
Proud supporter of replacing Gretorp as a caster for NASL.

honestly, switching to mech is not the answer and you have no idea what you're talking about if that's what you think ensnare should have done

he would have no upgrades and no production facilities for them, and also that map is so huge it would be really vulnerable; not to mention phoenixes and voidrays would own anything coming out of a factory

the one thing ensnare could have and should have done is get a better army composition before engaging but he maxed out too fast

he needed way more vikings, a few ghosts although not necessarily crucial, but the vikings would have minimized damage a lot against a phoenix/collossus heavy build

again, that map is still heavily protoss favored in the lategame imo just by the fact that he was able to turtle up so easily

mass medivac drop is not that hard to clean up when you have that many collossus, and incontrol isn't stupid enough to take his entire army for just 2 medivacs

Rocks everywhere... apparently NASL likes them more than Blizzard.

Yeah why is NASL using the shitty Blizz versions of the maps (Tal Darim, Crossfire, Terminus). Why not use the better GSL modified versions???

Actually they seem to be using a much older version of Tal'darim, not the ladder edition. I'm not sure why NASL hasn't picked up a more recent version, since that one hasn't been used in Gom leagues for a couple months.

NASL's Crossfire is clearly the modified version with properly sized ramps.

As for Terminus, although their pregame graphics showed an old version, the map they used in the games appeared to be Terminus RE which Gom only recently replaced with Terminus SE.

More than anything it was the decision to do the strategy that he did for this particular map. How he thought he would put on pressure was beyond me as he had no routes for harassment before the 12-15 minute mark (can't recall just how late his starport was). It was decision making and not taking into account for the map.
