Is this going to be at the usual GOM studios and will it be commentated in English?

I think this season will be awesome now that code s is becoming what it should be (no jobbers). Its still a travesty that mvp is in code a

Last season it was at the usual Mok Dong studio and was in Korean with John trying to translate all of it. Tastosis doesn't really need to be there seeing as most of the players are Korean.

Same format as last time.

1) oGsMC in Group A
2) ST_July in Group H
3) Other top 8 players get to choose their own group (B~G) and a player.
4) Selected player chooses a player from the rest
5) Repeat process #4 until there are 4 players in each group
6) Awesome

I feel like Up and Down matches should be done this way too. Winner of code A chooses his 2 opponents first, then runner up, etc. That way we won't see someone like Leenock face off against 2 titans again after getting so far in code A. Or you could have them each choose 1 opponent, then the other one afterwards.

Yeah I see what you are saying.
The only problem is that Top 8 from Code A and Code S rank 17~24 (3rd place in their groups) get 2 chances to make it to or remain in Code S. And Code S rank 25~32 only get once chance to remain in Code S.

Nomination for Up&Down would not work as smoothly due to that system.
Reaching Top 8 in Code A is a commendable feat and some players do not get so 'lucky' but Super Tournament is coming up and we will get to see how Code A vs Code S players will turn out.

Code A vs Code S? That sounds amazing.

Basically, we are putting all 64 players (32 Code S + 32 Code A) together in one pit and letting them fight it out till there is only one man standing.

Hey Sam do you know if there are any promotion/demotion implications after the Super Tournament? It would be weird if Code A guys win it/do well (Top 8) but is still stuck in Code A after that.

Not sure.
The tournament is in May and we will have more details available as it gets near.

Super Tournament is pretty much going to be like previous Open Season tournaments.

I can't wait until I go out of my way to deprive myself of sleep to watch code A games. This season is looking to be the best season ever!

In the least offensive ways ever, I think there are still a lot of players who are not as good as other top tier Code A players and might be top picks as jobbers this season.

I'll gladly eat my words if I'm wrong but, if I were to wager who would get eliminated, I'll go with. This is just judging on playing style and my impressions on their skill levels.

Of course we haven't seen a lot of the new Protosses players who just only qualified, so it might be too early to make a judgment.

For them to be in the same group, one of the first players would have to pick Jinro or Huk, then have the person that one of them picks pick the other.

The group with Jinro and Idra in GSL Jan was random picked.

This is true. Though last season's picks would have been even more hilarious had we already known about IdrA's epic troll.

No one's fault but MVP's. He had 2 shots at staying in code S and blew it. Now he's gonna have to work his way back up just like all the other code A players. Not going to be easy with all the protoss that qualified.

A lot of these I have to strongly disagree with, but to each his own. I do have to add that your doubts in boxer are silly. He just took out julyzerg last week 2:1 and the way he played he showed he's no slouch. Your first list really doesn't make sense, they have yet to prove they can keep up, yet they're all still in code S? While I agree with some, the wording should be changed. Your code A list is spot on. Although sadly, I expect some slayers teamkills in ro32 and ro16
