Quake Live? World of Warcraft?

its mlg for not making sure they have enough internet to run all the computers they are running. if they could not get that much internet than they should have just had a smaller tournament that isint the most confusing thing in the world.

It's about 90% MLG's fault and 10% Blizzard's. There have been many, many, many tournaments that have gone successfully because their organizers cared enough to try and do things right. 10% is Blizzard not having LAN to fix MLG's incompetency.

I'm thinking it's closer to 50/50 sir.

MLG worst organised tournament ever.

what the fuck would organization do to stop lag, think about what you are saying, yeah first day that was MLG's fault, today the dallas as a whole is having internet problems, if you want to blame someone blame blizzard.

Well they can actually competent ppl to make sure the connection of the venue is able to handle all the traffic is needed. Also, as internet connections is a priority, any competent engineer needs to make sure they have backup connections with another isp or some way to bypass this problems.

I bet the convention center has one external IP and there are a bunch of shitty switches inside the building. Routing goes to hell. They should bring their own real switches, or using offsite video streaming.

Day 9 looks like he is about to rage.

or cry..

I'm not sure which...

Probably both... he is probably more angry than any of us, since his future livelyhood depends on the success of these events.

Considering he's getting his masters degree(kind of the reason he's not really playing sc2 on a pro level and all); I'm going to go with no, his future livelyhood does not. Would he like to be a professional caster/player? Probably. Is his life in financial crisis if he can't? Assuredly, no.

His financial situation is not being talked about here. It is Day9's dream to spread esports to western world and prove that it should be taken as any real sport. MLG, however, is completely ruining that dream from ever happening.

'Livelyhood' suggests his well being in the sense that he needs to make... a living(and be in good health, etc). His ability to cast sc2 really has very little to do with his livelyhood.

Also, MLG's failures will have much less of an impact than you are giving it credit for. Sean is such a known figure in the community, he can get the position anywhere he pleases as far as casting goes, and 1 event is hardly going to make or break sc2's ability to be taken seriously as a 'real sport.'

Hyperbole doesn't suit this matter at all, letting rational thought get thrown out because you're angry at MLG/Blizz doesn't make the situation any different.

Okay, maybe I used the wrong word. Maybe his "dream" of E-Sports flourishing is what I meant to say.

Quake Live? World of Warcraft?

Wow is actually a LAN-game in events. Blizzard sets up a LAN-version of the arena (Including better observers and so on) and the players play on it.

What's the deal with MLG, why is it the only LAN event with lag??
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞
