Among other things, Octoshape's EULA prohibits the user utilizing the records that their firewall or anti-virus software may record, for protection against reverse engineering the Octoshape software. Other points of criticism: Shifts the broadcaster's share of the cost of bandwidth to the listeners instead by running servers on the listeners' machines. Octoshape reserves the right to expand the scope of what its software does on listeners' computers. Doesn't sound that bad really. The last part of it all is very much due to the p2p nature of octashape. The p2p also causes all the connection problems because p2p needs a bit of tweaking both in your router (if you have one) the OS and the p2p program you want to use. And yeah, you can't tweak octashape. And any kind of tweaking you have to do just to see a cast of a SC2 tournament is a bit of a nono. Anyways p2p is not the way to go for events like this. Especially with all the live streaming channels available now. It really gives MLG an edge of amateurism, They should be able to find a better solution other than the satellite truck Sundance talked about @ SotG.

Haven't seen any word for it though, assuming usual delays and such there's no way I'll be able to stay up for the whole thing. I remember games going until 5am last year :/

That schedule doesn't seem to take into account that each pool will have 5 players. Or have I misinterpreted the format?

These are just the known players for Friday's schedule. The rest of the schedule is just generic bracket and group based. Fifth players don't come into pool play till Open Tournament is over.

Here's hoping he can make it out >.< Yeah, one super creative unorthodox toss and one sturdy no-nonsense super-consistent toss. It would be huge if he could bounce back and make a statement; it seems like Toss is the thorn in IdrA's side these days. They might be his toughest opponents during the entire tournament.

Umm, possible because It doesnt start for another 2-3hrs from now. But I agree about there site. Last time i bought a ticket because i couldn't figure out how to watch and thought it was a paid event. Then I realized the SD was free.

I mean europeans are sleeping that time, why not make matches from the morning at Dallas time, so that US and EU can both watch? It's a weekday. Their fans in attendance in the area can still go to work/school and show up for the event. It also gives fans traveling to the event the morning time to travel instead of having to leave the night before and afford a hotel for that Thursday night. Same with pros, it gives them the option to arrive that day, or travel Thursday and then practice Friday. The Saturday/Sunday start times are much earlier, so there will be live streaming for Europe at reasonable hours. Just as important is the online viewership. I don't know Halo and Black Op's popularity in Europe, but I'll guess it's (relatively) more popular in US. 5pm CET means East coast and Mid-US can get home and watch the start, west coast is a bit tighter but still reasonable, considering they most likely start late anyways. PS, most of this post is assuming halo/black ops have stuff starting their event around the same time. If not, then my post is moot an the reasoning is because... US rocks? PPS: assuming they do the same as last year's Dallas event, they had replays up that night/next day. So while lots of people are complaining about late VODs, you can still find out which games are awesome and see it for yourself. Not the same, but it's atleast something.
