Even if it wasn't, this is an abysmal display by MLG. They've been doing this for years and fail.
It's not broadcasted from a fucking huge convention centre with no facilities in place for this kind of thing though. MLG's problem here is serious, but don't be ridiculous and compare it to replays casted by 2 guys in their rooms, come on.
I'm not. TSL went smoother than MLG Dallas.
Teamliquid managed to run a near flawless tournament for the fans, for no profit (as far as I'm aware).
For MLG this is a business, a business they have been running for almost 10 years now. And they are failing miserably at getting their product out.
That is a disgrace.
You can't compare the two at all. No shit TSL went smoother, it was casted by one guy who was on skype with another guy after ALL the games were played. Woopty freakin doo.
MLG has well over AT LEAST 100 people in the room playing online simultaneously, and has many multipliers (I want to say at least x5) more online stream spectators than TSL had. Not to mention any spectators in the room using wifi.
Being a business for a decade doesn't mean you are impervious to technical difficulties....
Regardless of the fact that MLG has a more difficult situation, they should be able to stream the games to their viewers. Of course it doesn't mean that they're impervious, but a business that has been running for 10 years should be able to actually do what they're supposed to do.
It is no excuse for MLG that they have a difficult situation.
Non US citizens only for the free t-shirt raffle. I admit though, that is a great consolation prize for the dozens of thousands of fans from Europe and the rest of the world who are staying up at crazy times like 3am to watch 24 minutes of idra and socke.... in a 3 hour cast.
