Maybe boxer didnt GG because the ruling wasnt out on the first game? So perhaps the referee was like "just play on, we decide later", and so he didnt know if he was 0-1 or 1-0 at that time?

OT, it was probably just as energy consuming for Boxer to run around hiding as it was for NE to cruise control to victory that game.

Hopefully game 3 has more fireworks..
