The BYOC will be bo1 - streamers will be announced in good time before the event = )

I'd rather have the compo start a few hours earlier and have bo3.

Noone will ever love Bo1 but time constraints are time constraints.. It's great that you would prefer the tournament start a few hours earlier.. lol but what about the extra costs associated with that?
Not a fan of entry fees but the prize pool is very awesome

The whole point in having qualifiers is so you have the best players in your tourney otherwise you could just let anyone in, bo1 works against this. So easy for the worse player to just allin and roll the dice, and anyone can lose to a allin just ask idra.

We have online qualifiers before the event, where most of the players will be able to qualify. The main tournament starts with bo3 in the groupstage.
Yes it is a risk with a lot of cheese in the BYOC-qualifiers, but we have to make some choices that won't be liked by everyone.

LOL, I might emigrate to Norway soon ! You can get less in France after spending 5 years at the University, and when you didn't do post highschool studies you get half of that (if you're lucky enough to get a job) ...

Thats why alot of SMART swedish ppl work in norway then drive home to sweden at night.

Additional information about the BYOC qualifier from http://www.gathering.org/tg11/en/games/starcraft-ii/:
...256 players will get the opportunity to fight their way into the main tournament for StarCraft 2 at The Gathering 2011. The BYOC qualifier will be played in a best of one map (bo1) until there are 16 players left...
This makes it 4 bo1s to get into the main tourney.

Good commentators will not wish to affiliate themselves with a potentially corrupt tournament. Before you even think about this event, you should have already payed the past competitors what they were promised.
