It's ok to be excited that your favorite player won. Please keep it manner! |
Well , i think people want to bash GLHF because they are disappointed with the quality of the casting and also the rage quit that maven did yesterday in front of all the viewers. Not saying the witch hunt is justified but GLHF has rubbed a few people the wrong way these past few days.
What happened with the ragequit? I didn't watch any yesterday.
(not looking to stir up anything. Just curiousity)

Any chance you could do a sort of summary/play by play Piski if that's not too troublesome?
(seeing as we don't seem to have anyone casting it)
ed: nvm, sctv.ru casting http://www.own3d.tv/live/17002

Ret seems to be losing game 1 against Pomi.

Adelscott didn't have the hardest bracket that's for sure, but still, he 2-0ed Morrow in the group stage. That's no small feat.

Regardless, thanks for bringing us all you could today! It's not our fault, GLHF is the main english stream and they have the priority to choose games, but they gave the game for Biscuit to cast. When the game started they just entered the game and didn't let him in. I have the logs and everything of that promise, I'm so freakin' pissed right now to GLF.tv Wow, really? That's really bad form, something I didn't expect from GLHF.tv at all. Maybe these days they've gotten too full of themselves. Why always assume the worst? What is much more likely is that GLHF misunderstood how their agreement worked and thought they could pick any game they wanted any time first. Probably just some miscommunication and no bad intentions. It's like you guys are always on some fucking witch hunt. It's horrible. It's the insatiable thirst for some E-drama that runs in the community. Not my cup of tea either though. These casters are providing a ton of content for the community, so a little gratitude would be in place
I often find the drama as entertaining as the games themselves - which is to say that I don't mind the drama at all. That said, I feel really bad for TotalBiscuit. He was left hanging the past four hours having been promised games to cast, but completely ignored and disrespected.
I don't think that GLHF's intentions were malicious, anymore than a drunk driver's intentions are malicious (irresponsibility vs malice).

Am I the only one that has a feeling that the whole silly Incontrol/Totalbiscuit thing has something to do with GLHF being rude to Totalbiscuit?

Last match of the day (After a 1 hour 30minute game (in sc2 time)) and Maven just got up and left and some other guy came in to cover for him

Tyler had DT's on the field before Socke had detection. Socke got photon cannons up but didn't have movable detection yet. Tyler was in a bad position but not completely out, because Socke didn't have an army. You should actually watch the games. The robo was more than halfway done, guarded by cannons and Socke had like 24 probes vs 4 of Tyler. Also he had blinkstalkers. You should actually read what I write. He didn't have movable detection yet. His blink stalkers were dead. Socke's cannons were up, putting him in a clearly advantageous position as I said, but as I also said, it is conceivable (not probable) that they could be taken out by careful positioning of the DT's. Mathematically not possible. The DT that he had can't take out the cannons ( i think 2) that Socke had. The only way Socke could lose that game for Socke to accidentaly misclicked and destroyed his own cannon and then his own robo. Lol, mathematics has nothing to do with this. Perhaps you mean "physically impossible". I agree of course that the situation was highly favored against Tyler, however I am sure you did not study the positioning of the pylons and cannons to the degree that you can announce it as physically impossible that the DT's could break down Socke's infrastructure before he could get out attacking units and observers to take out the DT's. Er dude the cannons are not just detections. They can attack the DT as well.. That's what i meant by impossible. Please read what I write and think. The cannons did not cover the entire base. Pylons were reachable by the DT's in places where the cannons did not reach. The mineral line was covered by cannons but not the rest of the infrastructure. However, time would of course be against Tyler since an observer was on its way, and it turned out that Tyler did, as expected, loose the game. However, my entire point was that it was a bit like a television channel cutting away from a movie because the broadcasters believed the story was told, even though the movie itself wasn't done.
It was pretty much over, and there was something important happening at the same time (Ret getting proxied). The caster even explained, in English, why they switched over. And comparing a live broadcast to a movie is silly. If a bomb exploded in a nearby city, I think most television channels would switch over.
And please watch the replay if ever gets posted. Socke already had a stalker defending his base.

Goodgame.ru, there is a stream in the middle of the mainpage of the site.

Stop giving attention to terrible casters and their forced e-drama, please.

It should come as no surprise. In all honesty there isn't one unknown player in this tournament atm.

Doesn't matter what they are. He can't be a "nonamer," if 30 people instantly respond to tell you that he isn't one.
