Mouz and True Random just chatting surrealistically.
Q. You've been criticized for using cheesy builds in the past, but now people are saying that you've played some good games today. A. I'm glad that they think that way, but that won't stop me from using cheesy builds.(oGsHyperdub)

Hehehe, that chat was funny. ''I like bikes''. XD

Sjow vs Seinis definitely shows you should scout if you are the better player though... the small loss you get from scouting is not worth the risk of straight out losing vs someone where that small setback doesn't really matter.

Not scouting vs someone who is as good as you or better is a completely different thing, you should at least scout in a small percentage of your games then still, to remain a bit unpredictable.

it just proves that not scouting has both upside and downside. you saw the downside. any strategy has downsides and when it faces that and loses that doesn't make the whole strategy useless. it's about what you expect, how often you expect it, how much advantage it can give you in games it doesn't happen. don't try to make everything so simplistic.

It's also worth adding that he almost held it, probably if he practiced that for an afternoon he could hold that cheese not scouting it until he walked into his door. Even different sim-city could have helped and might have even had a shot a draw with slightly better decision making. I don't necessarily agree with Sjow not scouting, but I don't think that game proved anything and players who are constantly greedy are the ones who do the best in the long-run.

There is no upside when you're playing against someone alot worse than you. You're gonna win 95% of the time, and the 100 minerals you lose dont really matter as much as they would vs a really good player, if that makes sense

Seriously, imagine how cheesy koreans are. If SjoW wants to have any chance in korea he has to scout earlier.

Unless you're playing vs someone alot better than you, and you have a really tight BO, it's always beneficial to scout

This plus Sjow doesn't always not scout, it's pretty clear that scouting is just part of each individual build he is doing, not a general rule. When he played against me in the TLOpen he scouted, it's almost as if he plans his build down to scout times :O

This.

It's such a small cost, for information, which is the most valuable commodity in any RTS game. -_-

If you decide that one scv isn't worth intel... Then be ready to pay the price.

Doesn't get any simpler than that.

I think he said he isn't going to Korea because there's so many tournaments to play in the west, plus he didn't like the quality of the players in the foreigner house

Every technical difficulty, of every sort, related to Starcraft 2 is due to Bnet 2.0, didn't you know? Hell, people cried "Bnet 2.0!" when Day9 kicked the computer at Dreamhack.
