Not scouting vs someone who is as good as you or better is a completely different thing, you should at least scout in a small percentage of your games then still, to remain a bit unpredictable.

It's also worth adding that he almost held it, probably if he practiced that for an afternoon he could hold that cheese not scouting it until he walked into his door. Even different sim-city could have helped and might have even had a shot a draw with slightly better decision making. I don't necessarily agree with Sjow not scouting, but I don't think that game proved anything and players who are constantly greedy are the ones who do the best in the long-run.

There is no upside when you're playing against someone alot worse than you. You're gonna win 95% of the time, and the 100 minerals you lose dont really matter as much as they would vs a really good player, if that makes sense ![]() Seriously, imagine how cheesy koreans are. If SjoW wants to have any chance in korea he has to scout earlier. Unless you're playing vs someone alot better than you, and you have a really tight BO, it's always beneficial to scout ![]()

This plus Sjow doesn't always not scout, it's pretty clear that scouting is just part of each individual build he is doing, not a general rule. When he played against me in the TLOpen he scouted, it's almost as if he plans his build down to scout times :O

It's such a small cost, for information, which is the most valuable commodity in any RTS game. -_- If you decide that one scv isn't worth intel... Then be ready to pay the price. Doesn't get any simpler than that.

Every technical difficulty, of every sort, related to Starcraft 2 is due to Bnet 2.0, didn't you know? Hell, people cried "Bnet 2.0!" when Day9 kicked the computer at Dreamhack.
