Calling it's over when it really isn't and what happends? Yeah the "dead" player wins.. lmao To be fair, Tester was waaaaay ahead at that point and if he wouldn't have just thrown free kills at polt for the next 5 min would have been able to roll in with a 200 army when Polt was around ~120 but that's just it, tester threw the game away. But when you call out the game and that it's over you get into this state where you are just waiting for one player to gg and get it over with. He then pulls off a comeback but you dont really care since it's over. it just creates a lull in the game when in fact both players are doing their best not to lose. Instead what they should be doing is empowering the situation and what tester just did, they should be talking about how tester is now ahead and unless he makes a huge mistake he is gonna win the game. This is pretty much tomato / to-ma-to to me, I don't see the diffrence.
my point is that as commentators they are meant to enlighten and entertain the viewers, to a reasonable extent of course, but calling the game over when there is a possibility of a comeback no matter how silly(like we just saw) they are creating not excitement but a lull. This to me seems counter productive.
Edit: totalbiscuit(a great caster) does this very nicely in fact. He never says it's over unless he states why and what needs to happen for the player ahead to throw it away. If the player heads down the road to throwing away the game he gets excited and goes even stronger than he did before. To me that is worlds apart in entertainment and excitement over a game that seemed dead.
With tastosis you just get: oh, he is throwing away the game, he shouldnt do that....yeah...just bad...etc and there is no real excitement either.
clearly not a quote from tastosis but basically it's how it goes. I get that seeing a good player make bad decisions isnt real fun to watch but there is something to convey still. They in general just dont.

Why put a player that is certain to lose out there? Nothing against Check, but I don't think he is that good. Several of the new maps are pretty good for zerg, and the losing team picks the next map. He may not be the best player, but I think it's a reasonably good choice.

Oh, first ZvT on Tal`Darim Altar in GSL play. Should be fun! (watch this be a 2 rax bunker rush >_< )

Read better, he says that PDD is also useful in TvT and not only in TvP.

next up CheckPrime (Z) vs TSL_Alive (T) on Tal'Darim Altar 2 - 1 TSL vs Prime.WE
CheckPrime deciding to pick the biggest with a lot of open room, as i have never seen a tvz played on this map on an even halfway decent leven, im pumped for this!

You are doing a good job. It is 2-1 though, not 2-2.
