I'm assuming that the first 120 players that register are in the bracket and the others are substitutes in case we have a few players who didn't turn up for the preliminaries? Is this right? I'm just registering in advance but I can't confirm if there will be any change of plans for me during that time.
Are keyboard and mouse provided or do we bring our own?
Oh and I used to play on a older account but I stopped using it, because it was technically my sister's account (but she never used it). It was in gold league but now I'm on silver league. Barely played any games on both accounts. Im not sure what you mean in the first paragraph. We're accepting the first 128 players to sign up and everyone will play through prelims. The players that made it to the round of 8 during prelims will get to play in the main event on 25th. Hope that makes it clear. We're hoping to get a few computers from sponsor companies, if not, there will be people willing to lend u their computers / laptops. We suggest that you bring your own keyboard, mouse, headphones etc.
Yeah that clears half of it up. I actually was wondering about if say, ten people didn't show up for the preliminaries, what would happen to those spots?

How do the prelims work? You get matched up against one person and if you lose that one match, you're out? Sounds pretty volatile to me.

Right now, we're planning to match the bronze with bronze for at least one round and merge lower leagues with top players after that
We're also considering double elimination. Like I said in the OP, the format is up for debate still, we will try our best to fit everyone's needs.
Also, we'll have side events going on at the event for those that are bored or out of the tournament. We can either have KOTH or a mini-tournament type of thing.

How about having a loser's bracket? Or a loser's round-robin tourney on the side if setting up a whole new bracket on the fly is too messy.
Edit: Well, as long as I have something to do after I inevitably lose, its all good :D

Hey, I sent an email with my email address + ID and stuff but my name isn't in the participants list so I'll just list it here. I'm also gonna register for my friend too (he doesn't have a TL account).

24 players already! Seriously suggesting lower leagues to come and play too :D And please leave us your email so I don't have to track down every one of you

Should try and do something like a round robin for the prelims.. like groups of 10 and top 3 advance or something so each player gets to play at least 9 games

I`ll come early to help set up, too.

Updated the format as per stalife's suggestion. If you have any questions about it or have any other suggestions, please post them here or send us an email.

I understand that we want lower league players to have fun and play enough games, but wouldn't putting lower leagues into their own bracket kick out a lot of potentially good players in the "good" brackets and lead to some completely one-sided games later on in the tournament when the lower and higher brackets merge?

This is exactly the thing we're concerned with. At the most, they'll be given 2 spots in the round of 32 where they can try to upset the top players in a best of 3, but if we feel that it is too much, we can change that. We're still taking in suggestions from different people as it is our first 'big' event. :s
