Sounds more like Sundevil being nice seeing as it's a north american tournament and normally he wouldnt even allowed to be a replacement. He never said he was first on the list though did he?

Very nicely run tournament. Great games yesterday. Huge thanks to everyone involved. Good job hosts, players, casters and mods. And of course an extra big thanks to all the sponsors!
Looking forward to another great night today.
Personally I am very happy almost all my favorites made it to RO8! On that note, curious to know the results of the RO16 matches not yet played/updated in the bracket.
Edit: Ninjaedit after reading Shini's post and realizing I had forgotten to thank the great sponsors

Nice job casting Raelcun & IceD, also a big thanks goes out to SunDevil and all the sponsors supporting the tournament. Thank your Everyone for watching, hope to see you today as well.

All together a very well rounded event thus far. I can't help thinking that there just ISN'T enough credit here. There isn't enough credit for ROOT as a premier clan, and there isn't enough credit for Raelcun and IceD as casters. Not in this thread, obviously, but in the NA/Western SC2 scene. Outstanding efforts thus far people!
Also, Huge thank you to the sponsors. Keep doing what you're doing - I personally support the companies that support my interests!

I feel exactly the same way, BrahCJ. I know there will always be different point of views, and I can only represent my own. But In MY opinion ROOT is run and managed in a way that kind of blows my mind. The team is built from scratch. All these amazing people, a lot of them behind the scenes, have put in so many hours, days and weeks of hard work to get where they are now. They wanted to make it on their own, and they have succeeded. Under their own brand, 100% selfmade.
This takes guts, this takes determination and this takes a lot of time. The fact that the founders/leaders are top notch players themselves, makes it even more impressive. In addition to spending hours and hours doing what all progamers do, they also deal with the administration and politics that comes with running a team.
Not by any means am I trying to discredit other teams for being more established in the first place, I just want to maybe explain why I got so much respect and love for ROOT, and why I, like BrahCJ, feel like there isn't enough credit for this team.
Back on topic, hope to see you all tuned in later tonight!

Every established e-sport's team in existance started like this, by players for players and they stuck around long enough and made good enough decisions to become well established

Yes, I am aware of that. Maybe my post was a bit misleading. What I ment was, right now, or if you look at SC2 only, ROOT stands out compared to the others when it comes to philosophy and size. In a way it reminds me a bit of TeamLiquid in the early years.
The already established teams were known either from other games or for being around in Broodwar, when SC2 came out. Of course nothing but respect for that. Which also means the community easily recognize and give credit where credit is due to these teams, well deserved of course. Just wish more people would also open their eyes for ROOT
Either way, this isn't really the place for this discussion, I guess, sorry for getting off track for a while. Just wanted to clarify.

Just want to say this has been an awesome tournament so far. Really looking forward to tonight. Many thanks to the players, organizers, and sponsors! Also to whoever made the badass intro ^^
|
I am still rendering the giant ball of VODs. I should have the first few games up tonight. I believe SunDevil is going to be posting a full replay pack at the end.
♥ to everyone for a super successful first day. BrahCJ & fabulously hit the nail right on the head. I have never been involved with a more organized team with such sexy sponsors. Root will be among those leading the way into the future of Western E-Sports and I could not think of a better group of people to do just that.
|
Yes I will be releasing the complete repack pack probably tomorrow, assuming I don't have to track down a bunch of the replays from people.
Thanks for all of your support guys, I hope you enjoy tonight's show also!
|
Yesterday's games were awesome. I really feel like the level of play in SC2, especially in North America, is rising so rapidly and ROOT is partially to thank for that. Hope to see some more great games tonight!
|
Looking forward to tonights show. Great work so far SunDevil and everyone involved. And of course thanks to the sponsors for their support of e-sports! GL to everyone.
|
Only half an hour away guys! Hope you all tune in!

First match of the night will be from the top bracket....
ROOTdrewbie vs ROOTMinigun
edit:
Second match of the night will be from the bottom bracket...
ROOTKiwikaki vs LGZelniq

That is a hilarious bracket seeing as every Root member is still in it.

Have I missed something. I can not find recommended matches in the OP.
