i am wondering when do we have GSL4? right after this code S/code A tourney? Was gonna say there would be one week of qualifiers etc but remembered those dont actually count now since Code S is it's own tourney, so to speak. Probably will be atleast one week after the finals untill season 4 starts though. Read this explanation to understand what's going on.
Basically, there will be 3 more tournaments like this, on a monthly basis, until May. In May they'll have a super tournament just like GSL1-3. Then more of this up/down tournaments, a worldwide tournament, and finally the Blizzard cup in december.
And to top it off, 6 more team tournaments throughout the year. Teams are not based on clans, but it's not quite clear how they'll be decided yet.

Im an Air Traffic Controller in the US military and I havent nor do I know anyone who has ever killed anyone. Pretty ignorant and sick hate speech going on in this thread I thank Team Liquid for at least banning the guy who ignited it. And i'm also I huge Idra fan so today was a good day minus the idiots.

Woohoo! IdrA! 3-0 in that group is awesome.

I feel so sorry i didnt take a day of holidays to watch this.... I guess the vods will have to do. GG idra anyway. And if i understand it correctly if jinro finishes second in his group he will face idra?
Seems rather stupid to have a confrontation that soon again.

I'd rather see some new faces every month(or 2, if you may). Am looking forward to the big tournaments :D

The way I see it. We can get new faces in Code A by qualifiers through the preliminary, but other than that Code S will mostly consist of people from Code A going up and Code S that stayed. Basically like league football.

What is this garbage about Nada throwing the game? the top seed will (probably) be MC, whom neither Idra or Nada want to play against. As to MC purposefully getting second, why would he want to play vs zerg when his vs terran is so strong, him getting first seed would mean he already crushed some of the best terrans in the world and has been practicing that MU, no reason to change.
Awesome, awesome play by Idra, I was worried in the genius match after that cannon garbage.

Why can't they just stick with the OSL format - top 4 previous season seeded into Ro16, top 5-16 previous season seeded into Ro32. Players who didn't get into top 16 are all forced to play in offline prelims.

Plus 4 foreigners get an invite into Code A. I would say that's fairly open.

Awesome, awesome play by Idra, I was worried in the genius match after that cannon garbage.
Nada said he withheld his strats in favor of using his older one. IdrA also mentioned not really caring much about the last game. MC getting first isn't quite as easy as people make it sound either.

Open tournaments are harder to organize, and as the quality of the first three GSLs showed, the matches up to the Ro64 can be quite bad. So it's understandable that they'd prefer to create a body of "decent" players (though tbh some of the Code A games were quite subpar) and go with them for a while before returning to recruit more rising stars.
It also helps with branding the existing players, which is fairly important as "known" players are much more consistent in drawing in watchers than "random" players. You need to establish a group of reputable players before you introduce underdogs.

I think it was more a case of Nada just not practicing that much. Idra said it looked like Nada hadn't really played many games when Nada played the Ro32 so maybe he just used a strat he knew but is rather old.
Idra crushing clide and Nada advancing. Awesome day.

I think Nada played well considering the build he did. He might not have did the best build he couldve in the situation but im sure he tried as hard as he could to win with it.

God damnit why does it have to start at 4pm (my time) tomoz? Why is it even on on a saturday? I have an engagement p8rty at 2:30 tomoz so I'm gunna miss Jinro Guess I might pay for VOD access...
EDIT: Not that I don't want to, it's more that it takes up a shit ton of my dl limit already and hq is gunna make that worse.

its is still considered an Open format...
basically anyone can compete in the Code B preliminaries,
but theres a relegation/promotion format going on. So Code S (top 32) then Code A (next 32) and Code B (prelims where new players fight it out to get into the Code S/A system..
and you can get relegated from Code S/A...
GSL 1-3 were only made that way coz they were actually the Qualifiers for this year's tournaments...

It was a build he had saved, but probably decided to use it now because he realized it wouldn't be as effective due to scv priority changes
|
I wasnt even sleeping. I first checked when code A was on, and went to play some runes of magic to wait for code S... then after many hours remembered GSL... i didnt even know the players yet ... DAMN i was disappointed to see i just missed Idra going 3-0 just because i was playing some stupid mmorpg...

They dont want to reveal what they have been working on just to finish top of the group because to win it you have to beat the best anyway.
