This is starting to be depressing from a zerg players point of view...
So far the following have advanced from Ro32:
Terran 4/6
Zerg 2/5
Protoss 0/1

We onle have one zerg in the next two groups, no zergs in the following two and then two zergies in the last group.

Basically every game involving Boxer or Hyperdub were long games except for the last game I think.
So basically all those games are must watches loool (this means no hongung games except 1st game between hongun and hyperdub).

I am sure this was mentioned but I feel this bo1 system is not fair for Zerg players.
In Sc2 Zerg is most sensitive to bad map pick. More maps are bad for Zerg then for other races. Bo1 in this setting makes this unfair.

This season is going to see a record low number of Zerg players in Ro16, and for the next one they are going to either need to change maps or system. Only reason why there are 2 zerg in Ro16 now is because in Group B there were 3 zergs so one must have advanced (and Nestea was put into a group where he completely outclassed his opposition).

I guess GSL people want to avoid Zerg winning any more GSLs so they have made this most stupid system. At least they could have made all Bo1 on a more balanced map like Xel'Naga Cavern. The LT IMMvp vs Cool was just stupid.

Meh, I don't see that it's any more unfair on zerg than it would be in a normal Bo3. They still play 3 games, so the chances of getting a bad map are the same. It's just the games are played against different people.

... The system isn't rigged. Cool/Fruitdealer isn't as good as everyone thinks (he was better in beta/early release). You can't complain over todays games. At all. Seriously.

Most of the maps are shit yes, gisado hints at GOM experimenting with different maps then the ladder ones. Let's hope they do something about blistering/steppes at least..

First of all: You need 2 losses to not get into ro16. So you need 2 bad maps, which would also fuck you in a bo3

Second: You need only 1 Zerg to win it all (which is NesTea)

Third finally: Group stages are most fun and entertaining. They have many good sides, like not being dependent of 1 match up, 1 superior player or 1 bad map. Gom did it for the consumers and not because they hate zerg players, which, by the way, is the most stupid thought ive ever heard. We can argue that a complete round robin or MSL-style would be better, which i will approve completely, however.

It's not THE stupidest thought. Once on the official forums (el oh el) I saw a guy claiming that the tutorial videos for noobies were evidence that Blizzard purposefully made Terran OP. The reasoning?

'Listen to how they talk about Terran, like they love them, and see the difference in detail between this tutorial and the P and Z ones. Further proof that Blizzard is and will always be biased towards Terran.'

I don't even think he was trolling.

Off topic but awesome.

P.S. Even though I don't really like the group play the suggestion that Gom is purposefully trying to avoid another Z winner is pretty out there.

Well it's not that FD is bad now, his play is unpredictable which is why he won Season 1 more so nestea play smarter and safer which is more consistent.
i hope inca, tester, genius and mc will make it my protoss fantasy team <3

Fruitdealer got knocked out due to some really poor decisions he made. His decision making is normally pretty good, so he would have benefited from multiset series a lot. He may have still gotten knocked out, though.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure GOM didn't design the tournament to spite Zerg players.
