Game 1 on DQ: 2 rax, first attack fended off, drewbie finds a hole in the sc placement to slip behind the natural. 1-0 Game 2 on Scrap Station: Drewbie goes for double factory blue hellion and cc, doesn't do any damage. Haypro takes his third, drewbie, on full mech, takes his soon after. Looking like a standard game with chances for both players, but for some reason Haypro macros really badly and gets rolled. 2-0 Game 3 on Meta: Cross spots, 2 rax by drewbie, one proxied at the gold. Haypro barely spots it with his overlord. Drewbie brings all his scvs for the attack, literally a-moves into Haypro's natural. 1 sc, lings and drones overwhelm. Haypro plays it safe and rolls drewbie 10 minutes later as he tries to get his third up. 2-1 Game 4 on LT: Close spots, Haypro moves the overlord over his natural to the cliff very early and doesn't have a drone down his ramp, drewbie manages to sneak a ramp block in. Haypro's forced to cancel his natural and the game's pretty much over from there. Drewbie finishes off with cloaked banshees. 3-1 Game 5 on Xel Naga Caverns: I took a 10 minute break here. When I came back the entire map was covered in creep and the commentators were going on about how good Haypro was. 3-2 Game 6 on DQ: Close spots. 1 rax by drewbie but tries to pressure anyway. Haypro holds it off. Drewbie tank drops Haypro's nat cliff, kills the hatchery. Haypro horribly behind, double expands and somehow manages to get back in the game. Drewbie for some reason gets 2 vikings out that do absolutely nothing, Haypro manages to intercept a dropship full of marines and drewbie's push soon after fails as his army's significantly smaller than it could have been and he mismicroes his marines. Haypro now with a commanding lead, goes up to 6 bases and techs to broodlords. Drewbie's just trying to get one big push together while also expanding to his gold. When drewbie moves out with his 200/200 army, Haypro engages horribly (I blame lag :p), losing all his ground units for almost nothing. Drewbie manages to take out the remaining ~7 broodlords with most of his army still intact. Haypro desperately tries to get out reinforcements, but for some reason he switches to ultras and is unable to make a dent in drewbie's big mass of units. 4-2 Not a great series by any means. edit: I still feel like Haypro's play seems unpolished. He plays absolutely great at times, but in all of the games I watched in his tournament he had sloppy moments, losing mutas unnecessarily, not engaging optimally. Maybe it's the lag because it was mostly his unit control that seemed shaky. In all of his games, I felt like he never displayed that aura of being untouchable that Idra and Ret often have in macro games. Still a nice run for him, let's hope he can win a big tourney soon! | ||
