Happy to see JulyZerg advance although I'm not expecting anything from him, just like NaDa and Boxer he couldn't keep up with the skill required in BW and was forgotten during the last could of years. I'm wondering when a decent, ACTIVE BW player will turn over to GSL. MVP was one but he was pretty low tier as well.

He was seriously hyped by Artosis but at the same time there were no other known BW players playing in the GSL so his hype was justified. However I have no clue why everyone still thinks he's a super player since better BW players emerged. Because of his beta performance. He was top notch, and most of the other players who were top notch at that point (Idra, Rainbow) still are.

Exactly, its not like tester was just hyped up without reason, he was simply the most successful player in korea after fruitdealer in sc2. And if you watched the recent clan showbattle youd see that he still plays amazing

GuemChi is definitely the best BW player so far in the GSL, he'll probably do pretty well. Horang2 would tear up SC2, he's a strategic genius.

It is a different game but still a similar game, good BW players have a huge advantage compared to newcomers to RTS. But the game is still changing all the time with patches and new strategies so just because someone was good at the beta doesn't really mean he would still be good today... like Tester.

I agree he will have to start producing results to keep his mantle, though.

He was on the starting lineup for proleague, aka the A lineup. Which beats like 80% of all other progamers? Just because they aren't superstars doesn't mean they aren't top top tier...

He had a fairly forgettable performance in GSL 1, and has now twice failed to qualify. I know that doesn't mean everything, but is he just not the world-class 'toss that everyone makes him out to be? IdrA claims TesteR to be the Best protoss in Korea and thus in the world. I would actually trust his knowledge more than our guesses.
