I just hope they spread out all foreigner 'seats' in the tournament as far as possible... would be a shame to have them eliminate each other in Ro64 or Ro32.

Tester was a low tier Protoss player in BW playing for the worst team in the proleague. He was seriously hyped by Artosis but at the same time there were no other known BW players playing in the GSL so his hype was justified. However I have no clue why everyone still thinks he's a super player since better BW players emerged.

Happy to see JulyZerg advance although I'm not expecting anything from him, just like NaDa and Boxer he couldn't keep up with the skill required in BW and was forgotten during the last could of years. I'm wondering when a decent, ACTIVE BW player will turn over to GSL. MVP was one but he was pretty low tier as well.

Because of his beta performance. He was top notch, and most of the other players who were top notch at that point (Idra, Rainbow) still are.

I would consider (P)SangHo a decent BW protoss. I have high hopes for a guy like (P)GuemChi though, I think with a bit more practice he can be really good.

Pretty bland statement. What are you talking about?

I guess he was referring to the Chinese/Taiwanese group of Loner Luffy, Sen, DusRush, SoftballRush.

Exactly, its not like tester was just hyped up without reason, he was simply the most successful player in korea after fruitdealer in sc2.
And if you watched the recent clan showbattle youd see that he still plays amazing

Not really, SangHo was more active but had about the same skill as Tester, playing for the same team and all. GuemChi is definitely the best BW player so far in the GSL, he'll probably do pretty well.

Horang2 would tear up SC2, he's a strategic genius.

News flash: You don't have to be a top 100 in BW to succeed in SC2.

It's a different game.

It is a different game but still a similar game, good BW players have a huge advantage compared to newcomers to RTS.

But the game is still changing all the time with patches and new strategies so just because someone was good at the beta doesn't really mean he would still be good today... like Tester.

Are people seriously saying Tester isn't good because he lost in two BO3 qualifiers? He won the TSL clan tournament (I know it's arguably not super-competitive) and is considered one of the best toss players in the world by his peers, which must mean something. Any protoss could have lost with this map pool, and many did.

I agree he will have to start producing results to keep his mantle, though.

How was MVP a low tier progamer? He was on the starting lineup for proleague, aka the A lineup. Which beats like 80% of all other progamers? Just because they aren't superstars doesn't mean they aren't top top tier...

Wow...this season is setting up to be an even bigger Protoss slaughterfest than the last one. 12-24-27 P-T-Z ratio. That's more than two to one in favor of the other two races. And some of the best Protoss players (Inca, Sangho, Tester) have already been eliminated...

Oh, and go 1 Random player! Hopefully he'll defy the shouts of imba by winning the whole thing ...

Is Tester's reputation deserved? I'm asking seriously, not to troll, as I am not actually familiar with his history in BW or anything like that. He had a fairly forgettable performance in GSL 1, and has now twice failed to qualify. I know that doesn't mean everything, but is he just not the world-class 'toss that everyone makes him out to be?

IdrA claims TesteR to be the Best protoss in Korea and thus in the world. I would actually trust his knowledge more than our guesses.
