If you look at the "notables that didnt qualify" and sum that up, you might even summarize terran as under powered.. ![]() Each season seems to pass by quickly and now only the Finals are left for GSL Season 2. The Season 3 Preliminaries will be next week on Nov. 15th and 16th. The maps for the Preliminary Rounds are, Set 1 : Xel’Naga Caverns Set 2 : Metalopolis Set 3 : Scrap Station The proportions for each race are, Terran : 39.5% Protoss : 33% Zerg : 23.9% Random : 3.6% The matches will be best of 3 matches. We hope that everyone coming over for the preliminaries does well and have fun participating. Thank you. GOMtv.net

Maybe its time GOMTV put a strong eye on this, or get some maps of their own. Weren't they supposed to use custom maps starting in the semi of GSL1 or something ?

GOMtv.net If we take these statistics into account, Zerg is doing way better than expected assuming a balanced game on a balanced map. Scrap Station is obviously a Zerg favoured map, should have played Shakuras instead. If there are no balance changes during this GSL I don't expect anything less than a Zerg finals.

Terran : 39.5% Protoss : 33% Zerg : 23.9% Random : 3.6% And the qualifiers turned out to look like: Terran: 37.5 % Protoss: 18.75 % Zerg: 42.2 % Random: 1.55 % Hm, protoss seems a bit off. But it has obviously more reasons than just map/race balance.

Wont join the balance discussion. We will enjoy GSL 3 now and I guess Blizzard will react in the December Patch they announced. Big Thanks to motbob for his coverage! Edit: ok, the guys above delivered the exact data ![]()

If we take these statistics into account, Zerg is doing way better than expected assuming a balanced game on a balanced map and players of even skill level or any N -> positive infinity of players with random levels of skill. fixed.
