I updated the Sponsor info and the rules as well, including contact info for checking in and sending replays. Please check them if you are a player.

This tournament is on the North American server
Who: 16 players, half "Pros" and half "KOTHers" (i.e. people who played in our Friday and Saturday night King of the Hill events).

Format: This will be a single elimination tournament. Pros will face KOTHers in the round of sixteen. Bo3 for Ro16, Ro8. The Semis, Third place match, and Finals will be Bo5. (I changed this but we'll no longer cast the third place match, which should keep the tournament length the same)
Map Selection/Pool: First map in each series will be predetermined. The loser of each game picks the following map from the Blizzard ladder pool, without repeating a map in the series.
NOTE: Refined Scrap Station is allowed. See http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=171033 for details, but it's the same map without the positional imbalances. Definitely a map people should look at and start playing!

Rules/Checkin/Info for Players:+ Show Spoiler +Players cannot switch races mid-tournament.
In the event of a disconnect games will be re-played unless the result was 100% determined. Admins will make that decision but it will be granted in only extremely unique circumstance.
No obs in games except for official streamers. If they don't have an NC in front of their name they're probably not official streamers ^^
Half (8) of the players will be "Pro" players (players on a profesional team, "known" players...) and half will be invited from participants in our weekly King of the Hill tournaments.
Check-In starts at 12 PM EST. Whisper NCNecron.732 (admin for the day of the tournament) to check-in. Please check in by 12:45 at the latest, and let one of us know if you'll be late ASAP so we don't try to find another player last-minute.
After each round, the winner should whisper NCNecron with the score and ask for his next opponent. Necron will give it to you and let you know if you can start playing or if you should wait a few minutes for your match to be streamed. Also, please send replays to ncreplays@gmail.com after each round so we have them.
We will stream BOTH Semi-Final matches, so do not start Semi-Final matches without casters. We will not be streaming the third place match so that the tournament isn't too long.

How to get into the tournament if you are a "unknown" player and you want one of the 8 KOTH spots:+ Show Spoiler +
Play in our King of the Hill events that run on Fridays and Saturdays. KOTH events start around 8 PM EST and run fairly late into the night. KOTH wins, high level play, and race balance will all be considered for KOTH invitation spots. Generally speaking we are looking for outstanding consistant performers. Invites will be sent after the KOTH on Saturday, November 27 (the week before the tournament.)

If you have questions let me know via PM or in this topic. Hopefully this is straightforward...I know it's not as straightforward as "first sign ups" or "invite-only" but we think this is a very unique tournament. We are hoping to give the average player a way to both earn a spot and play in a money tournament! As well this tournament is only featuring 16 players therefore giving the Pros a much quicker path to the money rounds compared to other tournaments.

If you are a 2k player you certainly have a legitimate chance to qualify.
As far as getting past some of these pros, I don't know...but I know I'd love the shot to take one of them on and see where I'm at!

Masq confirmed. We tentatively have 7/8 of the whole field but I want to be sure before I put people's names up there. I'd hate for people to drop out because they offered and then when we invited them they realized there was a scheduling conflict or something.

Yes, you just PM me during a KOTH. I start a list about 30 minutes before, so if you PM me at around 7:30 EST you'll be one of the first up. They run pretty late (3-4 AM on Fridays, ~2 AM on Saturdays?) so just PM me whenever you're free to play and I'll get you in.

Do you have to play the entire time in order to qualify? Because the latest ill be able to play to is 11 EST.

No, absolutely not. You just have to do well. If you showed up at 8 and were playing/around for 3 hours and doing well, you'd do fine. Depends on how well you do. If you are wrecking fools, and beat 5-8 players around 1600-2000 you'd probably get an invite on the spot. If you do fairly well, win a few games and then lose, you might have to come back again and do that again to get an invite. You definitely don't have to be around the whole time. I mean, it's all at our discretion, but we've been giving people invites for the way they play in 2-3 hours before, so it could definitely happen again.
If you're there for like, 8-2, the whole time, you'd probably get another run-through (IE: Lose, and then get another chance to play that you may or may not get if you're only around until 11), but you could definitely qualify in 3 hours.
Thanks for the questions though! Hope that answers your question: you definitely don't have to play the whole time to qualify. It depends on how well you play and the quality of your opponents.

There is no check in. You just whisper him during the time and you will be added to the list.

this was a good time, people should check this stream out. Honestly? the commentators are a little harsh on the bad players (Like...legend? the toss who walled himself in and didn't early expand) but eh. Talking to everyone in NC, they seemed fun, and it was cool to chill with them all and talk starcraft.

Everyone should definitely check out that Refined Scrap map. It's a well-needed fix to a map that's otherwise great, but pretty imba spawn positions!
