When playing in an important series or finals Huk really seems to crumble to the pressure on his shoulders.
I know... like the time he crumbled in Raleigh.. and the time 2 hours ago he crumbled when trying to win $1000...o wait..
What a dumb thing to say when the guy just won a big tournament and $1000.

Actually, in recent interviews IdrA said he was practising around 8h a day and HuK said between 10h and 12h a day (plus some physical training here and there)... so this "fact" is erroneous. Besides that, I enjoyed the games despite I wish HuK won in the end... Thing is, you just can't outmacro IdrA late game apparently!
Maybe true, but IdrA plays against the top players in the world. HuK plays against the top North American players, and HuK pretty much is the top North American player.
IdrA plays against people above or equal to his level, HuK plays against people who are mostly below his level. You can't get better that way.

ggs and very very high level production quality, props for that! loved the casting and everything. hope to see this again very soon

This tourney did much more for EG reputation than tasteless who always plug it during GSL In fact before that tourney I didn't like EG just because of that. Anyway that was a great show, top notch production, well done EG.

And too bad that idra can't still win with class. Finishing like this after such a sc2 feast, I hope idra will grow up one day and become respectable for his character and not only his skill.

It must be hard to be that wrong. Not gg'ing after he held off w/ voidrays was one thing, but after his natural was killed again and he knew IdrA was on 6 bases... then it becomes BM. Type GG and move on.
Anyhow, great tournament in general. Day and wheat are good together and the production quality was awesome. A shame for either ustream or your internet crapping out a few times, but still enjoyable to watch in between chapters of reading I postponed.

Huk needs to play on the korean server if he wants to break into Idra's level of skill

The matches were setup quickly, the time between breaks was announced and actually followed, just all in all a very well done tournament. Kudos to the staff and the players.
And the seating was amazing 0.0

Jibba hit the nail on the head.
It was BM yes but it's not like he wrote "Fuck you" out of spine crawlers in the middle of the map. IdrA was just being IdrA. HuK was wasting his time though, after the first roach bust it was GG no problem, I think IdrA knew that when he expanded what, 3 times at once?
Plus IdrA is allowed to be cocky and BM, he's damn good. When he BM'd in BW it was really obnoxious and pointless because he was nowhere near the top. However now IdrA is just playing phenomenally, and he's leagues above every other pro in the American scene. He's totally allowed to be cocky.

... This laptop is worth 1500$. How is he wasting time?

Feel bad for Huk though, but it's a good motivation to play better.

Because his only hope to win at that point was IdrA having a heart attack or breaking his keyboard. Did you even see the game?
edit: he'd have won without the keyboard too. keyboard and mouse break... simultaneously

I agree, it like one of those Terran player who would fly their building all the way to the side and you have to tech up and build flying units in order to kill the buildings

Every time HuK goes far in a tourney, IdrA cock-blocks him at some point xD
I just wish IdrA was at Blizzcon.

That's pretty much true (with some exceptions, for exemple HuK training with Boxer at blizzcon) and that's why I just can't wait to see him perform in GSL3 and the future ones. He will obviously benefit from the higher level of training there and I definitely think he has what it takes to make a name for himself, even in Korea!

IdrA always GGs appropriately (like RO16 GSL2, or when he cancelled his CC instead of halting it in BW) so I imagine thats another reason he was manner hatching.

Don't really see sticking it out till the very end being BM, especially with something valuable being on the line and it being a "favorites" match like that. Huk should feel pretty badly about how he played, but I wouldn't say worse than Idra. These NA competitions are about the only thing he's got going for himself to convince people he's still worthwhile. The pseudo-Jaedong BM against Huk was more embarrassing for him than it was for Huk.
|
The game was over when Huk researched +1 air upgrade on accident. After that the game just got worse and worse for him. Then after seeing his opponent take the rest of the map literally he still doesn't gg and people cry that idra shouldn't have sent his drones in to maybe give Huk the clue it was over.
