As others have pointed out, OSL, MSL, and proleague are all Bo1 and it works out just fine. You still have to lose more than one game to be eliminated, so you can't claim you only lost because of cheese. If it was a true Bo1 then I'd agree, but it isn't and this system works fine for Brood War tournaments. | ||

In this case if we have one player doing 3-0 and the other going 1-2 they would need to play another round robin to decide who advances, but if it's Bo3 round robin you will most likely have someone that went 1-2 in a Bo3 and thus will have a better overall 1-2 than the other. | ||

Appearently they are not showing all matches opposed to the other leagues and tournaments that you mentioned. So if they are playing other matches simultaneously they could just make them Bo3. | ||

Once they get to the single elim part of the tourney it obviously won't be Bo1 anymore but there's really no time for Bo3 in the round-robin group stage. There are 8 groups and it's a weekend tournament. | ||
