Can we get a list of the notable players who didn't qualify?
I still see Haypro playing against someone, how come you guys are saying he lost?

He could just be a smurf account. Maybe Davit was trying out Protoss for GSL2.

Yes, you can judge a player by their ladder rank. Why do people keep saying this?

Hey guys, I'm actually as good as Nada at SC2. Never mind that he's much higher than me on ladder. Ladder rank doesn't matter remember????

Thats not what people wanted to say.
Its more that someone might start playing SC2 with his account and knows nthing about the game. He gets bad stats but becaomes better.
He gets a new account, playins custom games with high level players and is really good without having a good ladder rank.
You can play SC2 24/7 without playing one single ladder game. And if you have friends in Korea that are really high level and practice with you, its no problem to become a really good player.

You can't when he hasn't played a ladder match in 3 weeks and before that played a total of 150 games (compared to 1k+ games most players at that level have), so he's obviously not practicing on ladder

He hit a 50% winrate in mid-September and then stopped playing 1v1s. At that point he was around #3000 in Korea.

When someone starts winning 50% of his games, he is at his peak level of ladder ranking. This guy reached his peak at #3000. There are two options here: either he is letting someone who is much better than him borrow his account, or he is going to show us some terrible games in the Ro64.

"민경환/Garnet"

PLAYXP i swear to GOD make up your fucking minds. First they said Garnet qualified (in opposition to the gomtv site, which said that 가넷 qualified), then they said 가넷 qualified, and now they're saying Garnet qualified again! Is the person who qualified 가넷 or Garnet? I'm going to just take that guy off the qualified players list until tomorrow.

Should point out that it means they've reached their actual matchmaking ranking; depending on how many games they play at that point, their ladder rating might not be accurate. The game can tend to underrate and then overrate, which can balance the win% quicker but make it take a while to hit the right ladder rating. Haven't looked at his profile so no idea how many games he played, though if it's averaged out to 50% after a decent number of games played then he's probably at the right rating.

I wonder if they should have had people check -in before arranging the brackets so that people didn't get byes and such. but that might have been difficult to do with 2k+ people
an interesting combination of iniative and laziness

Some players might prefer to keep a low profile and enter as one of their smurf accounts.

Though Occam's Razor says we just have a bad player luckbox his way into RO64.
