It's a cultural difference I guess. I don't know Korean culture so well but here (Japan) times are times and that's it.
I don't think culture has anything to do with it, as someone alluded to earlier American sporting events always start on time unless there is a serious reason to delay them (weather) and you can bet if one was delayed for organizational reasons the sponsors would be very pissed off.

Nope they're two completely different aspects. Try to remember some soccer match in tv as an example, you always have che caster who follows the action and gets excited when they score or get near to score, and the commentator who usually is a former professional high level player who gives more technical comments. The best sc2 casts have both these elements, a very good caster and a progamer commentanting. In sc2 the commentator also often points out some action the caster is missing. For the IEM we have 2 casters, and no commentators, while day[9] could fill that role he will be busy casting. It's not easy to correctly cast a sc2 high level match live, i hope they'll do a good job, they're the absolutely best casters, add some progamer commentating and it will be perfect.

bad sign for SC2?

Ya.. actually not only can sponsors get upset, but sometimes clauses are written into contracts and it can backfire on the organizers and cost them money. It makes the sponsors look bad because they are now associated with something that is unprofessional, unorganized, unpleasing... etc.
