True, he probably could have killed off the nydus, but I think a lot of people here fail to understand how brilliant cool's play is. First of all, he's done three completely different strategies in each game. The significance of the gold expansion is that if ITR does NOT take it out, he loses. Cool is too good of a player. You're not going to win against him if he gets +1 gold. ITR went into that gold expansion thinking there was pretty much NO way he could lose it. Do you know what fruit did? he didn't move his overlord at all. Because he wanted hopetorture to keep occupied on it while the nydus went up. Yes he should of saw it, but it would of served exactly the same purpose either way. If he defends the gold, he wins. if he gets the nydus in, he wins. Things cool has done that are non-standard: Fake broodlords to force wasted vikings total map control. Not a single drop has been successful. Medivac snipe on LT and DQ. Tank drop defense on LT Tank drop defense on Kulas Ravine | ||

Although cool is playing extremely well nontheless, exploiting the mistakes ITR makes (passivity, predictability) to the max. And btw i just realised that if you expect tank-drops the gold expo on kulas might actually be safer than the natural in that regard thanks to the very small ledge ... i never thought of that so far (although that might be because i havent met a zerg on kulas in ages) | ||
