It's really hard to win a TvT series 3-0 because opening builds are so important and it's hard to recover from an early build order disadvantage against a good player no matter how much better you are. Even Flash often drops games in mirrors to "build order losses" he can't recover from. I think Ensnare will take at least one game but probably be outclassed in the end.

Your prediction is pretty bold but I can see it happening. Personnaly I would love to see a 3-2 in favor of ITR because I don't think Ensnare would lose without taking at least 1 game.

ITR on the other hand beat fucking TESTER. Yeah they practice together a lot and Tester goofed a couple things he should have done better with, but he's fucking TESTER. I think ITR has a very strong TvT anyway. Hell, ITR is all around pretty damn awesome. I was really hoping Tester would beat ITR so we could have him play Cool in the finals, that would have been a bad ass macro battle. I'm just glad there won't be a TvT final. At first I thought that would be a disadvantage. But seeing as he has TL and oGs to train against, it could be an advantage. Didn't have to show one ounce of his build so far. Also, both have 100% win rates? :s Holy check! The real top players in this tournament are just beastly... To quote Cool: I think l have a better chance if I face Sung-jae hyung (Rainbow). Ensnare practices a lot, but Rainbow is similar to me: he enjoys playing the game, and takes it less seriously. I'm a bit more scared of facing Ensnare. You could actually read this both ways. 1) I'm more scared of facing Ensnare, so I think he's the better player... 2) Ensnare practices a lot, but ITR is more like me, a natural monster with awesome abilities... I'm thinking it's going to be quite close. Before the RO8 I would've set my money on Ensnare. Now it seems like it could go either way

Then i came to this thread and i realised he was ITR -.- I don't care who wins already, because either terran will make for a great finals. I do want to see ITR win though, if teamates are playing each other for the fun of the game thry would be much more relaxed and would show us more special plays and strategies

Ensnare needs more early pressure. He has superior micro, especially early game where he can control individual units. He needs to play to that strength, especially since ITR is going for heavy macro builds.

I'm still quite confident ensnare can take it to a Game 5. The last 2 games might have looked like very devastating victories, but the game was actually over when it was 11 SCVs for ensnare vs ~28 for ITR after ITR's counter push. If ensnare was in such a commanding lead, he would win in the same fashion ITR did in the last 2 games.

In his answer to the 2nd question Hope meant to say that he and Fruit both enjoy the game which is the reason he thinks Fruit is different(from other zerg players he knows). I thought that he meant that was the difference btw him and Fruit. My apologies

Yeah, there were times in the match vs LiveForever where you could see his multi-tasking was lacking. Hellions idling, even getting them killed, banshees getting killed that could have gotten away, etc. From what I've seen from ITR this won't happen with him. Another thing, LiveForever didn't play heavy economy, and I've noticed that very greedy terran builds is what really kills zergs because they can't really stop it, and while I don't know how ITR plays vs zerg, in today's match he showed a propensity to power econ so it's gonna be tough for our zerg player, but I'll still be rooting for him. Somehow I only want to see zergs win tournaments these days ![]()

Such as all the shift clicking and big control groups. If these brood war players are playing at this high of a level I can only imagine the likes of Jaedong and Flash. The ceiling is far from being reached! Apparently it's easier to reach, but the game hasn't been out for that long ofcourse. Atleast, the word is that that is true for terran and protoss, while the ceiling for zerg is much higher.. no comment on balance, just that zerg is harder to play and master.

They are not even close. GSL champion depends on who has mastered their race the best currently. Btw wtf was up with ensnare today? Vs a FE player isn't it a rule that you must have a build to KILL them (3 or 4 rax) or mirror the FE? Wtf was up with the 111 build? It worked one game because of close positions, but seriously why not keep exposing his weakness or if you think you are the better player FE better than he does?

He stated in the interview that he didn't practice much against that buid. Maybe the extent of not practicing was so far that he really didn't know what to do against it.

In a 1v1 mirroring is always a good solution if you think you can play better than your opponent. Also you have to think he has opened 3 or 4 rax before. With that it would have either given him an easy win and after that continued to give him easy wins or if Rainbow switched to 3 rax as well it would then the winner would be the better player not the person who chose the better build order.

game 2: nice macro from HopeTortue and double-pronged medivac drop. game 3: HopeTorture goes for a fast expo for the third straight time and it worked again, he was ahead the entire game. Ensnare tried a thor rush but marauders took care of it pretty easily even with Ensnare's scvs repairing it. game 4: HopeTorture does the fast expo again and Ensnare doesn't have an answer for it. HopeTorture convincingly showed superior techniques in this series. Can't wait for the finals this saturday, should be so awesome!
