But this tournament might be a little weird because of the break between beta phases and the short length of phase 2. Hopefully the prize money motivated everyone to focus on preparing for the tournament but even if that's true I won't be surprised by some wacky results. In other words, I'm in the same boat as Nazgul. We have to wait a while and see a lot of results before we can judge how these players compare. Unless one player brilliantly dominates a bunch of challenging opponents, I won't be drawing too many conclusions.

The games will very likely be played on the US servers, giving the US players a distinct advantage in micro because of delay. I could imagine them cheesing succesfully because opponents can't control all that good, and then it would be lame for them to get to the semis that way.
Don't think that will happen though.
PS Day9 you are obviously the King yourself, giving us the best tournament so far to cover the downtime

I hate living in Europe, I miss every awesome event. Except the ESWC in Paris.... (yeh...)

I will leave my laptop on all night running Replay Media Catcher so i can watch the cast in the morning, i.e. 3 hours after its being broadcasted. I could upload them somewhere but i doubt Day9 would approve of that.
I CANNOT WAIT yayyyyy
Edit:
I think the break will have little to no effect for such a large prize pool. If you saw the Star2gether Clan Invitational those koreans were pumped up and had a lot of great builds with good execution. I'm sure the players will prepare intensively and all the rust from the break will be brushed off.

Im cheering for IntotheRainbow since he's a classic BW face, well I'll cheer for White-Ra And Idra as well. But IntotheRainbow is interesting since he is a retired Bw Player going into Starcraft 2 instead of just making the transition.

singed. Day9 is the real King of the Beta.

This is gonna be on Day9's bliptv account later, right?
Edit: Ha, it says it right in the post. I just got spooked by the people saying they were going to record it themselves.

Day9 is more like the GOD or at the very least one of the gods of Starcraft II. There are kings and then there are gods.
