NewLife also played in the 17173 China Hero cup some weeks back and he made it into the final 8 by beating xiaOt, but unluckily for him he faced Freedom (who was the eventual winner) next and got knocked out.

this is the most entertaining tournament I have seen yet.
Koreans and Chinese are really bringing out all the stops. Some of the whites have been doing really well also but this is the first tour to see S-class sc2 gaming. Maka, NewLife, have really been wowing folks... they are like the first to really slam dunk in my opinion. Like where you see shit and go, "deaaaaamn" like when a dude slam dunks in your eye.

Could you try to be a little less harsh with your judgments. Tester has the result to back up his status, anyone can get eliminated from a single tournament. Major props to Haypro for taking out the most feared (based on facts) Protoss in the world.

Maybe i am not following the Asian scene enough, but i've heard the names of Maka, Freedom and Cezzanne for example more often than Tester; but you are right I stated it a little harsh (given i haven't seen Tester often) :D

Meh I dunno whos better out of those guys at all I'm not some sort of an expert on the Asian scene, but Tester is seen as the best Protoss in the world based on his tourney results =/

It's possible foreigners aren't as far off from Koreans as we thought. Looking at my games from yesterday I watched the replays a bit and could have done a lot better in the 2nd/3rd games. Not doing two silly unnecessary attacks could have won both of them. Super curious to how TLO will do later today but I have my moms birthday to attend to.

Before this goup start I thought Newlife have 0.1% probability to advance. but he amazed me that the 3 matchs of Newlife,he did not do any cheeses but used his builds,strategy and timing attack to win..

It felt to me like you maybe went into your games with the mindset of needing something special to happen as they were better players, when in actual fact you did have the advantage a number of times, you just seemed unable to realise it and tried to force things to happen that weren't really necessary.

The Tester hype is mainly due to the big positive spin Artosis has been putting on him in all of his scforall coverage. He's definitely a very good player but to place him up on some unbeatable world #1 pedestal already was a bit rash since even among protoss there are others like InCa and Anypro (and NewLife :p) who are plenty capable of beating him.
