Point of Emphasis: Nony plays against the American Zerg Chosen. The replays for the entire group should be released soon. This game features incredible pressure by the zerg player with 5 even 6 hatchery hydralisk pumping. The difference from this and other noobs however, he micros incredibly well. Nony responds by critically upgrading the templar energy which ends up being his saving grace in more than just a few battles.

Awesome counter at the end. I think the zerg could have pushed this over but began to tech and it slowed that stream of hydras.. cant say I blame him. He was "all-in" had he not teched to something.. or tried at least.

i'll just clarify for the newbs that the +energy for HT's is not so that i can stock up 250 energy for HT's, but so that the HT's start with 62.5 energy instead of 50. so every time you see a HT storm with 75-87 energy, i wouldnt have been able to cast a storm at the time without the upgrade. and because of chosen's strat, that's pretty much every storm.

Yeah, this is the point I meant. But this is a HUGE display of why that upgrade is so crucial. Almost deserves a comment in the strat forum.. I think its VERY important.

Khaydarin amulet is a saving grace for newborn templars. Also I think NonY could've done much better not losing 2 or 3 valid (75+ energy) HT to hydra without getting a storm off. It was in a crucial moment and made this game really tense.

Nevertheless, 6 hatch hydra before lair? I'm downright amazed.

i did miss some opportunities, partly because i was caught off guard and just disorganized in general, but also partly because we werent using chaoslauncher. playing on LAN latency converts directly into faster storming. any experienced toss player knows there are many storms that are cast on bnet that never actually happen as the templar dies right after the command is given. on the flip side for the zerg, his hydras are caught under the storm a split second longer due to the latency when he gives the move command. but when the zerg snipes HT by running in and targeting them, latency is not an issue, so zerg has that advantage there. in other words, he couldnt snipe a split second faster on LAN, but i could storm a split second faster before dying on LAN.

I actually remember Nony mentioning that +energy upgrade for HTs in one of his FPVODs some time ago.

Anyway, nice and intense game.
We make signature, then defense it.

I thought Chosen could have won at the ~11minute mark but he forgot a group of hydras to bring with him ! Nonetheless he's improved so much over the past year hehe
