For all of Casy's "Can't play TvP", I still find Canata's surge of recent success, culminating in the prelim success, the most surprising.

Idra not winning his group TT

actually I voted for Mind/Nada, as both probably have been practicing really hard, and both are good players who had easy groups

casy winning like that might be the biggest surprise
I voted for 2SKT zergs qualifiying though... i mean honestly, I didnt even know they had Zerg in their team.
ForGG and Savior not qualifying isnt very surprising to me at all, especially forgg, only jangbi is a bit surprising but well... era of protoss has ended so...blame the maps

Casy, I think. For someone in ACE who once said something to the effect of even his non-SC-playing friends warning him against playing against Protoss in his prime, it's pretty impressive that he got through.

Well, Thezerg went from being an unknown to me when he took out Hwasin in a previous season, so I wasn't taken by surprise too much.

How about 'Three ace members qualifying'? That takes the cake for me...

Guys, Casy beat Tempest. 2-0.

Now, there are upsets. There are mega upsets. But Casy winning a TvP series, that's different. Way different.

How Jangbi did not manage to come out of that group is beyond me. Thought he was supposed to be one of those players who are "dominant off-line but struggle during televised games [though probably not anymore]"

Yes he has, his first ever tvp series, at least according to TLPD.
It was in "2003 3rd OnGameNet Challenge League" versus Rock, 2-1.

Well, when I saw forGG was against Miracle I kinda expected him to lose. But Savior just can't catch a break in the OSL prelims.

And I wonder if JangBi is losing confidence in his PvT or something?

Come on, some giants have to fall, Savior/Jangbi/ForGG are just the unlucky ones this year.

2 SKT1 Zergs? They're SKT1 Zergs!

And the Casy TvP is pretty random too.

I bet most people didn't think too much about this poll before voting, I mean, I'm not really that surprised that Casy made it seeing how he prepared anti-toss builds for proleague and SKT1 zergs aren't that bad compared to some of the other scrubs in their groups. Canata winning vs Skyhigh is actually shocking though.

Sea/nada/mind/ losing in the first round of their groups pains me. Good terrans seem to be lacking in an overall sense of this osl. Light is pretty much the only terran that could do anything in an osl that qualified here. Casy, ruby, canata, gogo, and miracle won't do much. Zergs definitely got the best qualifiers, a lot of young blood won their groups and are trying to prove themselves as the next big zerg.

FBH, bogus, and iris losing sucks too. This osl is definitely a zergs, I'll be rooting for by.hero.

It's such a shame though, seeing how Nada barely plays proleague at all so he can focus on individual leagues and then this happens

I'm actually not too surprised with savior and forgg, cause they've been sucking for a while (yes they managed to go to quarterfinals, but they got raped there), but Jangbi losing to a random T player especially since after having a pretty damn good season, that was surprising.

Watch any game Casy has played in his prime against a protoss (and yes, i'm fairly sure that he's prepared for each of those matches). Casy is a player who will lose to B teamers going 8 gate goon against his 2base terran turtle.

Canata has qualified for several OSLs before...I don't know why it's THAT suprising. He's shown he can beat good players if he gets lucky He has no consistency but its not like he beat skyhigh in a bo7.

I picked nada/mind.

Jangbi losing was unexpected but not that surprising. Remember even Jaedong spent 2 season in offline qualifiers when he was still damn good.

Iron going up all the way from the bottom though, it pretty damn surprising. Those guys are supposed to be the punching bags for the seeds to get a free win.

No you don't get it, the finals only have 2 spots. 3 people can't be in the finals. How is this option still leading? Something that won't ever happen (unless they change format to FFA fastests for the finals) shouldn't suprise you when it doesn't happen!

Nada failing, someone else mentioned that this is like the first time in his career where he isn't in the KESPA top 25. (hes 26)

That's the KESPA ranking before he got knocked out of the OSL though isnt it... so he'll probably fall even further........ :'(

No you don't get it, the finals only have 2 spots. 3 people can't be in the finals. How is this option still leading? Something that won't ever happen (unless they change format to FFA fastests for the finals) shouldn't suprise you when it doesn't happen!

They were each in their own, separate group.

Each group had its own finals.

Each of them failed to make to their group's finals.

Make sense now?

uhhhh group finals are indeed the finals because everyone who wins their group goes to OSL round of 16

its not like we're saying it's a surprise forgg savior and jangbi aren't in the OSL final 3 months in the future

I should've voted Casy but Canata kicking out Skyhigh just infuriated me so much that I chose an other option.

With the 2 zerg options in 2nd and 3rd place its clear that its most surprising that zergs are up there.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)
