One choice is missing : "all of the above".
Voted "Graphics and art" because I think they were way above all the other competitions'.
But honeslty, everything was great. The breathtaking final was a perfect closer for this first edition.

1.) Commentators and Obs - Without you guys TSL would have sucked, not many people can cast like you guys do.
2.) Overlay and Stream quality, no buffering and the overlays looked like they could be on MBC or OGN.
3.) EVERYTHING ELSE

Prizes and Sponsors. Makes it feel really really official, I like that.
Day[9] stepping up to the commentating plate was way awesome too though.

Wish there was a different way to enter though besides power gaming on ICCup for weeks. Don't have time for that...

You might as well have said "what's the most important part of a tourney," because you pretty much nailed it all; no joke. I picked game quality. The final was just INSANE. Secondly, I guess I'd have to say the commentary and observer. The obs might want to take a few more looks on the mini-map from time to time, some details are lost from time to time. Still over all a very good job. The commentaries are world class, what can I say?

I loved everything about the TSL (especially graphics), but this really wouldn't have been possible without the superb organization and execution made by the team as a whole. Great event. I had a blast watching.

The organization, the casts, the commentary etc. we're all done really well, but every tournament will eventually be remembered by the games and the winners, so I voted game quality and competition (Brat, Dreiven vs Mondragon and ofcourse the amazing final).

The impressive level of competition and games made TSL what it was. Of course, I loved every other part of it as well: commentary, graphics, coverage, organization, stream, etc. But I mean without those amazing players who were motivated to win it, it wouldn't have been the same. I loved seeing old-schoolers like Leg/Naz/Ret participate in it. And countless other top foreigners took part in it.

organization and coverage!

The commentating was ok I guess, but it wasn't very synced with what the camera showed.
A lot of the time viewers spotted say a reaver taking out 5-7 workers and the commentators flat out missed it.

Not saying I could have done a better job myself though!

Everything was so good. But I have to say what was absolutely stunning and surprised me was the features on the live feed, like the pro-looking lay-out, the resource counters, ... I already knew the rest (like commentary) was gonna be great. Also the cut-scenes, wallpapers and intro's were schweeeet. :o

damn

"all of the above" really

1 - prize and sponsers

it rocks to have such a high prize, and being given by a kicking ass sponsor like Razer

2 - organization and coverage

seriously, you guys covered it like you cover OSL, we can't complain at all!

Out of a players perspective I'd have to say game quality and competition. But out of a spectator perspective, definitely the organization and coverage (which includes the commentators/obs imo).

I voted Prize and Sponsers. Really, the whole ensemble made the TSL feel like a bona fide Starleague, but it was the great prize that imbued the tournament with weight and meaning equivalent to a Korean league

Where is the all of the above?

Everything was awesome, but without the great play and competitive spirit of the players there would be nothing to get excited about imho.

its too bad that graphics and art will be under-represented in this poll just because everything else is more important to the overall quality of the TSL

because the graphics and art was super badass

I think the only reason graphics is at the bottom is because everyone's having problems deciding which choice to go with. I chose the money because without that, there would have been no tournament (or if anything, no motivation for the best foreigners to play and therefore, no quality in the games.)

Sponsorship of course.

Game quality, Organization, Commentators, Overlay and Graphics are everywhere. It was the razer sponsorship and prize money that made the TSL unique and big. It was the sponsorship that consequentially made all other features so awesome, it's the reason for everything else.

Much thanks to Razer.

edit.: but this poll is a bit misleading, it makes it seems like some features are less important when they're all equally vital. Try to avoid these in the future.

I voted game quality and competition, even though I (T)(us)Love watching it, the best thing is that it's free and open for everyone. Anyone with skill has a chance to get famous and cash in. So the enormous scale, involving whole foreign scene is wonderful.

wow that's tough having to vote for one thing.

went with prizes because that's what motivates the players, but in actuality there are like 3-4 factors tied for first.

I had to go with game quality and competition because I felt that was only fair to give props to the competitors, but in reality, I think it was all great. It was a hard vote to make. The commentating was great and the graphics were quite impressive. The stream was of good quality and the prize money made the whole thing a little more exciting, and of course the coverage was great - there were constant updates and whatnot to keep myself interested.

Keep up the great work guys. I cant wait for TSL 2!

Man, it was hard choose.

I choose prizes and sponsors, because the prize pool really set it apart from other tournaments. The legitimacy really was the basis for the professionalism in the other aspects of the tournament.

And most importantly, many of these features overlap. Coverage and Commentary can only be as good as the games permit. Live-Broadcasts profit immensely from the Artwork. The whole package of TSL was a huge success and reached a level of style and professionality that should by all means be maintained and is hard to be topped in Season two.

I voted graphics and art because I have never seen an intro so professionally done for this kind of tournament

voted for game quality/level of competition.. but a lot of that is inspired by the prizes/sponsorship.. so I'd pick both if I could.

I voted quality of competition, but in the end, I feel like the commentary REALLY made it. watching those games without commentary wouldn't have been anywhere NEAR as exciting. TY so much Chill, Artosis, and Day9. You guys are awesome at what you do

Extremely hard vote. Had to pick graphics and art because they were so WOW when first seen. Otherways greatness revealed itself slowlier.

i thought the commentating and obsing was very well done
though if artosis would think a few less things were a big big deal we'd be good to go

Hard vote I feel bad for the graphics and art team. The commentary was probably the best for me though. Artosis/Day[9] were just so surprisingly good.

would have voted all of the above it was an option. Voted for commentators, there have been many sponsered tourneys but not many that stream with english commentary and I probably wouldn't have watched it if it wasn't for the commentators.

Thank you for tl and to everyone that helped make it possible for tsl, looking foward to the next one

Really hard to pick just one, everything was so awesome!
However, you should let people spam DOWN DOWN DOWN in the IRC channel :D (only during the intro of course)

this is a good point, I highly doubt I would have watched without english commentary either - honestly/sadly I really dont care much about the foreign scene, but the english commentary just made it so much more exciting. I also managed to get about 10 people who are not even into SC to watch live, just because it was in english so they could at least understand *something*. (yes, they all enjoyed it very much)

Now dont get me wrong, every aspect of TSL was top notch. But the commentary really did set it apart from the rest. Day[9] was amazing.

EDIT: that said it was still very had to pick one

Organization and coverage (404) - Cannot be found
Great organization indeed
These sites might be of more use than a StarCraft site, where the majority of posters look on WCIII as the dense misformed fetus produced during Blizzards latest miscarrige.

Yeah, I feel bad for the art team coming in last in the vote, because their work was simply fantastic.
Same goes for the programming and streaming team.

The entire staff should feel great about themselves, becuse their work was sublime.

All about the

Commentators and obs (385) 18%

If I could get high quality English commentary like this on Korean games at 4:30 PM in the afternoon I'd be watching it every day.
