Have you ever heard the story, about the Zergling and the Probe? The Probe didn't make it across the creep.

Stephano could get through just depends on how the match ups come I give him a 60% chance to get through. Huk not so much maybe 30% to get through.

Hey, HuK's first match is against Sniper on Icarus, so he can go for an 8 gate immortal sentry allin, and possibly has a chance.

GSL so hard to win in. and both have a lot of games out there to study. Also have been practicing for Pro League as well. Kinda rough.

Sniper is the worst possible person to be in Huk's group...he'll probably lose to him twice, because Huk advancing would be fun and/or interesting.

HuK's group is really difficult, but at the same time, HuK has always been a player to surprise fans. I mean, the fact that he got through the Up-Downs was surprising, but that being said, his group is really tough.

both can advance, will they do it ? I'm not so sure...HuK has a very hard group and Stephano looks to confident i think he is underestimating the Terran in his group...yes he have a good record against Korean Terran but in the GSL Set up things are going to be really different, players are going to be 100% ready to counter his style and im afraid he wont prepare adequatly...

He is in a group with the current champion and 2 of the best Terrans, not to mention his group probably has the best TvP/ZvP record out of all of them. Other groups would definitely be easier.

I cant believe what im reading here, some people seems to have missed Stephanos very good play in Proleague and other tournaments lately.

I'd say only DRG has a better chance of advancing from their group.

Huk is probably screwed tho

I voted for stephano only. I'd give him a 50/50 chance (HuK <10%), he must win against both the terrans because it's really hard he wins against DRG but he can make it.

Weirdly, I'm going with "Only Huk will advance". We are the 4%! It's just that Huk has done this thing before, knows how to do it, has a good group to do it, seems very focused on his GSL. Stephano has been busier with Proleague and stuff, this is his first time, he could easily mess up or/and get sniped. In any case, good luck to them both!

Stephano has a shot but it's below 50% I'd say.

Not a chance of Huk to go through. But then there wasn't a chance he'd win his U&D group, so we'll see.

Stephano honestly has a good chance, with 2 terrans in his group.

Huk is doomed though.

Stephano has a good chance of making it to the Round of 8. If Naniwa could, what will stop Stephano? He's definetly better than Naniwa ever was. And in the Ro8 you are only two matches from the finals, so who knows? Maybe he will take it all (or I'm just too big of a fan of him )

Naniwa got a bit lucky when he reached the ro8: each times he hadn't to play his worst MU (PvZ) in the groups whereas Stephano has to play ZvZ.

I'm really hoping that both can advance. I think that Huk does have a bit of an advantage over Stephano because he has experience in code S groups. Huk should know how to practice while Stephano probably isn't going to address it the same way. On the other hand, I do think Stephano has been performing better than Huk and has an edge there. In all reality though I don't really think either will advance that far (hopefully I'm wrong)

Actually his PvT has seemed to be his best matchup the last few months. It's a hell of a long shot that he'll make it out of this group, and Sniper would HAVE to 2-0 the group for it to happen, but it's not like he's up against 3 zergs or one of each race.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

I doubt HuK has a chance of making it past his group filled with vsProtoss specialists. Stephano might have a good chance because his group has Terrans he can beat, but DRG is likely going to beat him. Still, I think neither of the foreigners will progress.

Huk got super unlucky and drew a hard group, Stephano got super fortunate and got picked by the weakest looking Code S QF'er (innovation) and a player that even a weak Stephano could beat who also happens to provide him with his best match (Hack/ZvT). I think unless Innovation or Hack have some crazy builds or DRG crushes his soul, Stephano will come through in second place so Sniper can kill all the fun and pick him for Ro16

He actually reached ro8 twice in a row! Also it would be a "bit of luck" if there were as many zergs as there are now. When he reached ro8 there were like 5 zergs out of 32, so it was more likely to face P and T than Z.

He faced MVP on Ro8 the last time he got there, wouldnt call that "bit of luck" either. =D (same season MVP defeated Squirtle on the finals)

I think Stephano will advance:

-- His zvt is very good and he can advance by beating two terran. I love Innovation but after seeing more games do not think he's the zvt god I initially thought he was; also zvt is still obviously extremely difficult for Terrans.
-- Despite his loss in iron squid to drg, I still think Stephano is capable of beating DRG --30% or 40% chance perhaps, given he's beaten him a couple times before and DRG's play can show a lot of variance, although lately he's been in beast mode.
-- Stephano basically stopped practicing prior to going to Korea and now he's practicing quite a bit, so I expect a return to form where he was widely considered a top 3 zerg. He's not a normal player that needs months to figure things out. This guy can do it in one or two weeks (or at least this fanboy thinks he can!)
--Stephano is a big game player. I've never seen him rattled and he tends to play better as pressure intensifies.

To be is to be the value of a bound variable.

Just HuK. Stephano while being a great player is facing a zerg and two S class TvZers... thats not good odds for him. HuK somehow will find a way.

just because stephano looked somewhat well in proleague, thats proleague. not the gsl. im sure the koreans are watching every game hes played. they are by far way better in the homework format that is gsl.

Seriously? Fucking seriously? He doesn't even take a game off DRG, gets destroyed 3-0 and you still think he's likely to beat him? Can we say fanboy?

How many other people voted after seeing the results of HuK's group?

Stephano! Good play in proleague recently so I think he can take it.

Any group would be hard for huk...

actually some combination of players would be easier then others. shocking i now...

if you're going to be mean and make fun of people, don't make it so you can be made fun of back.
and i believe he was just saying that huk would not be able to compete with anyone that is there, even if it was the easiest group there it would still be a challenge for huk.

Umm he was 2-0 against DRG until that point. So he's 3-2 lifetime against DRG -- can we say hater? I can.

Edit: 2-3 (i meant, obviously)

poor huk, he used to be my #1 steam, but lately it seemed like his builds are a little dated.. Stephano has been playing pretty well, hope he can pull is off..

Stephano beats Koreans all the time? I don't understand the blatant pessimism other then to just to want to have something to say.

When he was playing at the World Championship, Stephano took out Korean heavy hitters like MC, DongRaeGu, Seed and Life and only barely losing to Squirtle.

I'd say Stephano has a pretty good shot at getting out. Bogus is obviously a threat as a top 8 seed, but with last season being almost universally agreed as the flukiest, this may not weigh as much as in previous GSLs. You can never count DongRaeGu out, but Stephano proved before that he has what it takes to take out the final boss. As for Hack.. well, he's a very good player, but it's hard to envision him making the Ro16..

HuK just isn't creative enough for GSL. He can copy builds and execute them perfectly with good mechanics but I don't think that's enough for top level Starcraft.
