Ret and Jinro, because they have experience in this kind of format, and because they're the two best players on this list.

Jinro, I choose you!! You didn't let me down when I voted for you to win MLG Dallas

Prelims are gonna be insane - 1500 people registered. Such a crapshoot.

Ret has a style that would probably work against the Korean aggression playstyle. Maybe also HuK if he does put more into winning matches than winning the crowds

Voted Select.

Select/Jinro/Ret have the best chances but Select's playstyle should take him through the qualifiers.

SeleCT he's Korean so he's already a step ahead.

More seriously
That aside i think Jinro if Blizzard fixes TvZ. And Ret since his Zerg is really good.

Picket Ret, because I think his style is the most robust against whatever crazy antics players might pull in qualifiers. Jinro and HuK should be shoo-ins too though.

Either Ret or Jinro, here. I'm not sold on Select's TvZ yet, and it seems that's a growing liability in the GSL...

I can't believe Haypro is coming in last. He didn't qualify for GSL 2, but he's been in Korea for a good amount of time now, and is probably used to the way they play, as well as being well-practiced. He's definitely my first choice for qualification.

EDIT: Ah, forgot about Jinro. He seems likely to qualify too.

Went with Ret, cuz it was scary how fast he got 200/200 at MLG and how much he improved in a short period of time. But HuK is my favorite foreigner in Korea and I hope he goes far in GSL 3 and brings Protoss some glory!

So heart says HuK, mind says Ret

I kinda miss Idra...

I think Huk has a chance, but Ret and Select are way higher up on that list.

Jinro and Ret have the best chances imo. Huk and Select could get in if their brackets are not too hard. I don't see Kiwikaki qualifying and even less Incontrol. Not sure what to expect from Haypro.
This being said, I'd be very happy to be proven wrong and all of the above qualify.

I picked Jinro because A) he's been in Korea the longest and therefore had enough time to adjust to the culture and playstyle, B) he just won MLG Dallas and should be feeling confident, and C) he's already tried to qualify and should know what to expect.

I'm also surprised that HuK's first on the poll. To me, he's less likely because he hasn't been in Korea very long (like Jinro or Haypro), and he doesn't have Ret's raw talent (he's talented, but not Ret level imo).

I voted Ret, but it was a tough call. Ret is an amazing player, and I voted for him because of his consistency, but I'm thinking Jinro's weird builds will throw a lot of the Koreans off their game, and from what I hear Koreans aren't very creative in their play so it may be difficult to adapt.

We'll see, however.

I believe that the luck factor is still higher than the skill factor in these qualifiers. everyone of those are likely to qualify skillwise, but the brackets decide...

however, I voted for ret. not because he comes up with fancy unbeatable strats, but because his fundamentals seem to be so solid. same goes for jinro and haypro imo.

I want to see HayprO make it. He is such a solid player. He has gotten really close both times to qualifying (knocked out on the last round of qualifying I believe).

I think HuK is going to practice in his sleep for this tournament, so I would be shocked if he didn't qualify.

Jinro has proven that he is superior to everyone on this list at MLG Dallas in convincing fashion. Not to mention he will have had another extra week of practice in the TL-oGs house going into it, so I think he has a good shot this time.

I really want to see how InControL does. I am willing to bet that he is going to go all out to finally show what he is capable of. He has a TON of RTS knowledge and genius. If he gets going in pre-lims, I could see him qualifying. He probably has the most motivation out of anyone to qualify. Best of luck to you sir, you definitely have it in you to be able to make the GSL.

With (T)Jinro's showing at MLG Dallas it should be obvious that it's him. (P)HuK's PvZ is not even close to top level and unless he improves that dramatically he will have a hard time and (Z)ret can get ZvZ and that is well... ZvZ. (T)SeleCt needs to get better vs zerg. (P)KiWiKaKi might actually have a bigger chance than most of these because of his abusive play. (Z)iNcontroL is more solid than anyone here knows. been studying his replays and he has strong overall play which he mixes up with good cheese. As much as I love and root for (Z)HayprO as a swede he hasn't impressed yet. But he has some solid training in korea so he should have a good chance.

My list would look something like this:
1: (T)Jinro
2: (Z)ret
3: (Z)iNcontroL
4: (Z)HayprO
5: (P)KiWiKaKi
6: (P)HuK
7: (T)SeleCt

The reason (P)HuK and (T)SeleCt is last for me is that they have painfully obvious weak matchups where they seem to approach the matchup itself wrong. If they can rectify this then they are top contenders obviously. More over I think (P)HuKs strong matchup (PvT) has a style that works better on koreans than (T)SeleCts rax heavy style TvP. Also training with oGs gives me confidence in both (Z)HayprO and (T)Jinro.

voted ret.
I guess he has the best mechanics of these players and he also has a lot of experience.
Also he is a zerg player and zergs are doing pretty well atm.
I think Huk would have a chance, too but not with the current patch. Korean top Terrans are too strong for him I would guess.

Other than that I think Jinro may have a good chance to qualify. I dont know Select's play enough to judge him.

Anyways I am totally excited about qualifiers and hope that as many foreigners as possible will qualify!!

I'd be surprised if Select doesn't qualify, and somewhat surprised if ret doesn't. Maybe one other person on the list will make it too. I think people in this poll are being way too short-term results oriented about Jinro. He's obviously not bad, but watch that Dallas set against ret and tell me who was the better player, results aside.
Of course, you only live one life, and you make all your mistakes, and learn what not to do, and that’s the end of you.

Jinro - Very solid all around. Solid builds, good macro, good decision making. He's like ice man in top gun, playing very solid until the opponent makes a mistake and then strikes. The koreans playing professionally seldom make mistakes though. He needs to dictate the game and force opportunities to happen.
KiWiKaKi - He plays very korean with aggressive and creative timing builds. Therefore he shouldn't have a hard time adapting to the korean metagame. The other side of the coin is that the koreans are more used to his kind of play style and be better prepared for it that the non-koreans he's been tearing up.
HayprO - A great player, I can't recall seeing any game of him really being outplayed. What I have seen though, is him losing lots games in which he was clearly ahead due to poor decision making. He needs to find some calm in his play.
Ret - I really feel he's improving his game piece by piece every time i watch him. He's constantly improving and his full potential isn't reached by far. Though I still feel like he's still playing with the sc 1 zerg mentality, as in "Imma gonna take the whole map, get absolute map control and starve him out". I'm not so sure that works in sc2.
HuK - I think he is the best player on the list. Solid without being predicable. His biggest weakness, as I see it, is that he's very rigid in his play style. Like he commits to one strategy and can't really transition out if it if it gets countered. This is most obvious in his pvz where you really need to be able to punish them if they're being to greedy.
I don't really feel like I have enough data on iNcontrol or Select to comment on them.

Easy question - only Ret has a slim chance of qualifying so if anyone makes it, it's gonna be him. I doubt it though!

Judging from the way SC1 went, I would say none of them. Foreigners are only good at the beginning, then everyone else will surpass them. And Koreans simply practice a lot more than foreigners in general.

Not Huk atleast, seeing how tough he's had against zergs lately and given the amount of zergs in Korea. I'd say either Jinro or Ret...Ima go for Ret.

But to be honest, I think everyone will have a reeeaaaally hard time qualifying

I think Jinro will make it this time. He obviously stepped up his game for MLG and I think he will be more prepared than ever for this GSL.

I think Ret is probably the most likely but i feel they all have a rly good chance, i mean huk, jinro and select are definately some of the best non-korea has to offer. Think we will see huk go far as he is best NA protoss and apparently NA is the best protoss region lol

I voted ret, but jinro is right up there, I believe. All the rumors regarding him appeared true at MLG Dallas and there's just no way that fortune will let him down this time...

id say ret and jinro are more then likely not qualify. i think huk and should be able to qualify. kiwi and select are like a coin toss. i don't see haypro qualifying. i havent seen him preform well in any tournament. i don't know anything about incontroll.

When Huk is on his game, he's the best player out of that group. He's had more top finishes in more tournaments going all the way back to early beta.

Ret would probably be second pick because his game is really starting to come along now that he's got the practice time. At one time Ret was the top foreigner in the world for BW and you have to think those skills are going to start translating into SC2.

Select should be third pick because he's proven again and again in major tournaments that he can go far into the bracket and take down a lot of really skilled players.

Jinro is a sexy pick right now because he won MLG Dallas, but if this had been two weeks ago then no one would have picked him. Jinro hasn't really been lighting up the scene. He failed to qualify twice already and hasn't really performed well in any major tournaments to date.

ret and huk will for sure once they gets some more training in...but right now unless they have some really cool builds up their sleves i dont think they will.

Ret hasn't had as much time to practice against the Koreans as Jinro has
And from what I've read Jinro ranks high on the OGS/TL in-house ranking tournaments

Ret, SeleCT, iNcontrol and Jinro all have very good chances I would think!

I dont know enough about Kiwikaki or HayprO.

And I think HuK wont qualify this time because he still needs to learn fundamentals over there in korea and I dont think he has had enough time yet

Hopefully all of these make it, that would be so cool :D

I want to see what happens when there's only like 1-3 koreans in the round of 8! Maybe Nick and Dan gets to cast from the main caster stage? weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

And hopefully then the korean comentators get to wait while Dan is ranting about what zergs CAN NOT DO anymore....!

Huk won't qualify Ret and Jinro are the most likely ones to qualify.

I don't see how people can think Huk is going to go far. The guy got smashed by idrA, and idrA struggles in Korea. Huk is not ready for Korea and will get dominated. So many Huk fangirls.

Select is experienced so I voted for him, though he's Korean so it shouldn't really count. I suppose he's been playing in the US for some time now however. After him Jinro or Ret.

HuK is a good player and everything but the community has some ridiculous expectations of HuK. He's been in Korea for a couple of days so qualifying and having the mental focus to do so isn't exactly a given. He's probably got a 50/50 chance to qualify and I wouldn't be surprised if he would agree. AND let's not forget how fickle some of the group brackets can be...

I voted for Incontrol, because he uploads Brood War replays to the site, for that, deserves +50,000 votes.

Select is korean therefore should not be in a non-korean poll and where is Loner?

Very close call between Jinro and Ret. I feel like Jinro is the best of these two at the moment, but I think ret will become very very good with more practice. So I voted Jinro for now.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think ret will go far if he can just clean up the little things. He seems right on the cusp of being able to go very far.

I don't understand why people vote on polls after it's already happened. What's the point?

It's more interesting to see the numbers without a whole bunch of people who saw Haypro qualified then voted.

I think it will largely depend on who handles cheese the best. No but seriously, to qualify we know that a player must win one 32 player tournament each. Hopefully, none of the foreigners will have to play against each other. I'd say definitely Jinro and HuK will qualify but a little more so Jinro, since he's actually been to the GSL qualifiers and knows what to expect. LiquidHaypro does not have many votes, but he actually did extremely well at the last GSL qualifiers and I expect him to make it too.

I think other foreigners like EGMachine could make it too, if he tried. Finally, I would love to see both Tasteless and Artosis in GSL season 3!

I picked Ret, but Huk might have a better chance, would be happy to see any non-Korean succeed.

There goes HuK. I didn't believe so much in him, as he was pretty new to korea and probably too nervous etc.

since it asked "the best chance", there's really no other answer than Huk
Jinro is pretty close tho

Sigh. Huk.

I voted on this poll after already learning that jinro qualified. I voted for Ret. Because he plays Zerg

seleCT and Ret have the biggest chances beside jinro i think. alot of people tend to forget about seleCT but he is an amazing player with an insane record, tons of stamina, nerves of iron and wicked micro. the only thing what makes me worry about him is his TvZ. he said himselft that he has no good practicepartners for this matchup. but we`ll see...

That's gotta suck for HuK that's a lot of pressure to be under.

I'd like to see HuK qualify. I always enjoy watching his games, and as a Protoss player and Canadian, I'm sort of biased to start with.

My bet is on jinro and Ret, maybe select if he improves his TvZ

After I saw him lose to IdrA in DC and then stomp him in Dallas I think he can do it. He learns at an incredible rate and obviously knows how to improve weak MU's. I really think he can make it far, if not on his first try he will the next time. If he had a house to live and practice in like Liquid does he would be amazing.

Team liquid really overrating HuK.. How can people expect HuK to have better chances then Jinro or HayprO that has been in Korea training against the people they are going to play qualifier against?

Dont know where this HuK hype on TL is comming from. Give some more credit to the other guys like Ret, SeleCT, Jinro and HayprO guys common.
