I'm also surprised that HuK's first on the poll. To me, he's less likely because he hasn't been in Korea very long (like Jinro or Haypro), and he doesn't have Ret's raw talent (he's talented, but not Ret level imo).

however, I voted for ret. not because he comes up with fancy unbeatable strats, but because his fundamentals seem to be so solid. same goes for jinro and haypro imo.

I think HuK is going to practice in his sleep for this tournament, so I would be shocked if he didn't qualify. Jinro has proven that he is superior to everyone on this list at MLG Dallas in convincing fashion. Not to mention he will have had another extra week of practice in the TL-oGs house going into it, so I think he has a good shot this time. I really want to see how InControL does. I am willing to bet that he is going to go all out to finally show what he is capable of. He has a TON of RTS knowledge and genius. If he gets going in pre-lims, I could see him qualifying. He probably has the most motivation out of anyone to qualify. Best of luck to you sir, you definitely have it in you to be able to make the GSL.

I guess he has the best mechanics of these players and he also has a lot of experience. Also he is a zerg player and zergs are doing pretty well atm. I think Huk would have a chance, too but not with the current patch. Korean top Terrans are too strong for him I would guess. Other than that I think Jinro may have a good chance to qualify. I dont know Select's play enough to judge him. Anyways I am totally excited about qualifiers and hope that as many foreigners as possible will qualify!!

KiWiKaKi - He plays very korean with aggressive and creative timing builds. Therefore he shouldn't have a hard time adapting to the korean metagame. The other side of the coin is that the koreans are more used to his kind of play style and be better prepared for it that the non-koreans he's been tearing up. HayprO - A great player, I can't recall seeing any game of him really being outplayed. What I have seen though, is him losing lots games in which he was clearly ahead due to poor decision making. He needs to find some calm in his play. Ret - I really feel he's improving his game piece by piece every time i watch him. He's constantly improving and his full potential isn't reached by far. Though I still feel like he's still playing with the sc 1 zerg mentality, as in "Imma gonna take the whole map, get absolute map control and starve him out". I'm not so sure that works in sc2. HuK - I think he is the best player on the list. Solid without being predicable. His biggest weakness, as I see it, is that he's very rigid in his play style. Like he commits to one strategy and can't really transition out if it if it gets countered. This is most obvious in his pvz where you really need to be able to punish them if they're being to greedy. I don't really feel like I have enough data on iNcontrol or Select to comment on them.

Ret would probably be second pick because his game is really starting to come along now that he's got the practice time. At one time Ret was the top foreigner in the world for BW and you have to think those skills are going to start translating into SC2. Select should be third pick because he's proven again and again in major tournaments that he can go far into the bracket and take down a lot of really skilled players. Jinro is a sexy pick right now because he won MLG Dallas, but if this had been two weeks ago then no one would have picked him. Jinro hasn't really been lighting up the scene. He failed to qualify twice already and hasn't really performed well in any major tournaments to date.

I dont know enough about Kiwikaki or HayprO. And I think HuK wont qualify this time because he still needs to learn fundamentals over there in korea and I dont think he has had enough time yet ![]() Hopefully all of these make it, that would be so cool :D I want to see what happens when there's only like 1-3 koreans in the round of 8! Maybe Nick and Dan gets to cast from the main caster stage? weeeeeeeeeeeeeee! And hopefully then the korean comentators get to wait while Dan is ranting about what zergs CAN NOT DO anymore....!
